Default Hello from London

Hey everyone!

I'm RoraDrum and I'm a 30yr old drummer and music journalist from London.

I'm into loads of different bands, but if I had to name my top ten artists, this would be my best shot: Pixies, Sonic Youth, Autolux, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Bjork, Interpol, Warpaint, Beck and Metric. (phew, that was tough!)

So yeah, the above should give you a good idea of what I'm into!

I'm here because I want to make sure I keep discovering new bands. It's getting harder and harder to sift through all the junk out there.

Partly, I want to discover new bands because I love finding new stuff to listening to. But also, I'm very lucky that I have the freedom to interview bands for my day job. So it's even more important that I find new bands to chat to.

I didn't want to come on here and start sharing links to my interviews straight off the bat because I genuinely want to use this site, not just spam it. So any advice on whether it's OK to share my interviews etc would be helpful.

I've just met a fantastic new band called Kite Base. They are two female bass players (one of which is Ayse Hassan – the bass player from Savages) and I think they're gonna do big things.

They recently did a Nine Inch Nails cover and Trent Reznor tweeted and facebooked his appreciation so they're getting lots of interest now. Anyway, you can find it easily on youtube/google by putting in their band name. Check it out! Would love to know what you guys think of them.

I'll stop waffling for now. Look forward to hearing from some of you
