You can't call me Al
But you can call me Mustard, since that was my name at my former forum. Then again you can call me Rubber Soul too (duh )I'm actually a refugee from a writing forum where I was a Supervisor. I've since joined another writing site, but, frankly, it doesn't excite me the way my original forum did.
So now I'm exploring my first and truest love, music collecting. I once had a significant record collection before I converted everything to MP3. I'm not really a musician but I have a great appreciation of twentieth century music and especially sixties rock, punk and what was known as college rock in the Eighties. I'm also into folk, blues, sixties garage rock, glam rock (not glam metal though). Maybe I'll do my own top ten lists if I'm allowed and get acclimated here. Anyway, I guess that's where I'm at. I'm a Beatles fan as you might have gathered (though Rubber Soul is only my second favorite all time album). I'm also into REM, Bowie, the Kinks, and about a hundred other artists or so. Okay, so my novel is finished so, Hello. |
**** you, Al, Motley Crue rule. Horns up and **** the priest.
|
Welcome
Just be a dick and you'll fit right in. |
True. And Motley Crue rule.
|
I'm curious as to what your favorite album of all time is and why that isn't your username.
|
Sgt Pepper. I went with Rubber Soul because it sounded better. :D
|
Oddly, the Beatles don't get enough love here. Is A Day in the Life your favorite Beatles song?
Where do you rank Revolver? |
Close. It's second to Strawberry Fields Forever.
Revolver comes in third and the White Album is in my top ten, (Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited is my favorite Non-Beatles album) |
My favorite Dylan record is Freewheelin'
|
What's your favorite Kinks song?
|
I like Freewheelin.
Favorite Kinks song is Sunny Afternoon, what's yours? |
Village Green Preservation Society
I also love Superman and You Really Got Me |
"Last of the Steam Powered Trains" cause it's pop blues gold and anything with a harmonica is automatically made better.

OMG
Your avatar I fucking love the Pebbles series, and 60s Garage stuff in general Will you marry me? |
Hey, Ori. :)
I started buying the Pebbles series when I was working at a record store many moons ago. I think I had the first 27 volumes before I converted them all to Mp3s. The first eight volumes are the best. Now of course I can listen to anything I want off Youtube. Who knew? |
Do you like Girls in the Garage, too?
|
Yep. I had a few of those volumes too. I think I'm in love with the lead singer of the Luv'd Ones. :D

Welcome, fellow Beatlemaniac.

I thought you were going to say "Waterloo Sunset is on a different plane of existence." cause you know, it's so extraordinarily good. |
Hey, Pet Sounds. I'm guessing you're a Beach Boys fan as well :)
Waterloo Sunset is on Something Else by the Kinks (my favorite Kinks LP by the way). Picture Book is on Village Green Preservation Society (with Last of the Steam Powered Trains). |
Thanks. Have you heard the version of the Word from the Thirteenth Floor Elevators? You can search for it on YouTube. It's awesome.
