Evening

Been on the lookout for a new internet haunt, so hoping this can be it!

The name transliterates as 'Gandharva'. I was pushing my luck with the devanagari, but it made me laugh when it worked, soo...

Hello there.

Where are you from? What are some of your favourite artists?

The Batlord 11-13-2017 10:50 AM

How the hell do we even refer to you to a third party? Hey, um... that guy said you were a loser with a small dick.

I already said what the name is transliterated into latinised characters, but whatever floats yer boat.

You remind me of a book I read called Siddharta. What kind of music are you into, Gandharva?

I'm aware of it but I've never read it. Worth a go?

I mainly like metal and (conscious/alt) hip-hop, I guess. Some other stuff too, but them's the main things.

Definitely. Herman Hesse wrote it before he wrote Steppenwolf. It's about the self discovery of a young man who bounces between having no possessions and then materialism and back to simplicity again. I found the book fascinating. I'd definitely read it. I think you'll like it.

It'd be nice not to read something strictly work-related - I'll pick it up. Cheers!

Nobody's gonna know that. Squiggly is the best I can do unless you want everyone to call you Chicken Scratch?

Welcome to MB.

Please take a moment to read the rules:
Music Banter - Announcements in Forum : Introductions

Most importantly, this one:
Quote:

If you are going to post non-English on these forums, please also post an English translation of your post.
If you're going to use Hindi text for your username, you'll need to have it changed to also include the translation of it in English... unless you like explaining your name to people who don't feel like using a translator constantly, then have at that. This is kind of a grey area, but it only makes sense to keep the confusion down.

I'm curious. Why would you use Hindi instead of English?

गन्धर्व 11-13-2017 02:02 PM

It's Sanskrit. I like Sanskrit! Basically, I tried it and it let me. I laughed and clicked enter.

Plankton 11-13-2017 02:05 PM

Haha, yeah. That's always fun.

If it's a problem then of course, change it (I don't think I can... Can I?). No biggie!

See that's the thing. Personally, idgaf, but if we let you do it, then everyone will want to. If that happens, then it's:

In pre-white man America the natives would name people by the first thing they observed them doing, and sometimes they'd discover them post activity. This is why they call Batlord "Wipes With Cleanex".
