Spiderland is a brilliant ****ing record encompassing all sorts of things I don't think I'd even know how to begin articulating; with that in mind whether or not it's overrated is of no concern to me

I find myself to be a bit of a contrarian and tend to gravitate to more obscure records than the ones that everyone clamors on about. But there are some records that I can't even bitch about being overrated because they're so damn good. NHB's is Spiderland. Totally understandable as it's a great album.

Yeah, that's definitely how I'd put it. I tend to gravitate towards lesser-known or at least niche stuff, too, but I discovered Spiderland however many years ago, and it's been one of my favorite albums the entire time. There's really no downplaying its importance to my taste, at least.
