My Mount Rushmore is Captain Beefheart, John Coltrane, John Cage, and Jimi Hendrix, but I try to get something from every genre. Also really dig Keiji Haino, John Zorn, Shabazz Palaces, This Heat, Albert Ayler, Arca, Zu, Lole y Manuel, Sun City Girls, Peter Brotzmann, the list goes on.

torture garden was one of the first albums that got me into more extreme music genres, even though it's been a long time since i listened to it and i think my taste drifted away from it over time.

great taste! from the artists you mentioned i'm especially fond of SCG. i spent many nights listening to them; still exploring their discography.

one of my favorite album titles.

I follow the magazine The Wire and Far Side Virtual was their 2011 AOTY

If you check out my journals feel free to comment or bump anything you want no matter how old - there’s a lot there that I need to revisit anyway

and I always want comments and contributions

There’s lots of places to review records but you or anyone are always welcome on freak fighter

Write a review/ write anything you want

i only listened to far side virtual superficially but i usually like anything i listen from him. iAsia and Rerex arethe ones that somewhat remind me of metal machine music (really recommend them).

i'll check those threads, and contribute if i can ofc

Techno band

Hi,

I'm new today and read your introduction. From some of the replies you received I'm not sure if you'd like them but am sending anyway, b/c they are techno: Groove Armada. Especially either Black Light or White Light (live versions of cuts on Black Light). Not new. I'm not really particularly "into" EDM, but I like music with a cross-over appeal & just "different" and they are definitely that.

There are differences between White and Black Light, besides White being live. Black has some vocals with Nick Littlemore, who's singing is very different and, I think you're either gonna love or hate (and why I went with the White), even though Black is darker and more Depeche Mode leaning, which I would've liked, but can't take Littlemore vocals.

I'm jazzed about finding this community and hope to be able to share newfound music/bands and learn about some!
