Default Hello!

Hi everyone!

I'm Kaitlyn. I just joined here today. I remember being on a music forum many years ago, but I don't think it was this one.

Anyway, as for music I like, it's all over the map. I love classic rock, and if you couldn't tell from my username, Heart is my favourite band. I grew up listening to country and still enjoy country music, albeit mostly older country. I also like some more folk/acoustic music, your typical top 40 pop music, alternative rock, and some pop punk/emo stuff. I tend to appreciate powerful female vocals and Canadian music (being a Canadian and all that).

Welcome to MB!

I'm a fan of Heart as well, Dog and Butterfly is a great album, I'm assuming that's your favorite from them? Have some other favorite bands?

How do you feel about Celine Dion?

It's up there. Not sure if I can pick a favourite though.

As for bands, there's so many that I enjoy. I like Fleetwood Mac, The Who, Eagles, The Beatles, Sugarland, Marianas Trench, CCR, and Lady Antebellum among others.

There's some of her stuff I like, but she's not a favourite.

Me too! Are you into female punk singers?

Hi, I've just joined today and see the introduction and posts are pretty new, so that's why I'm replying here. My music taste is in my introduction. Since I saw you named some female bands, anyone here into Garbage or Metric (who'd both fall into alternative genre)? If yes, love to hear your take on Metric's latest "Art of Doubt"!! (Always looking for new music, or music that's "new to me")

MariaExpressesHerself,
You probably already know Screaming Females (Marissa Paternoster), but figured I'd mention to you. I know there's another Scandinavian band that's punk and all-female, but I don't remember their name. (You may want to do a search).

Yep, I like Marissa's voice. I'm trying to look for that Scandinavian band but I've had no luck yet. Is it contemporary or from any other period? Any idea what country?

Thanks Dude111
Mariaexperssesherself,

Sorry haven't seen replies. I'm learning (not very well!) how to navigate site and am not receiving any e-mail notifications when there are new posts/threads; so I'm just stumbling across them. (I have messages out to site and an administrator asking if there's an IT/Tech forum so I can better learn my way around).

I googled Scandinavian female bands 2000s in various ways...under punk, garage, under Swedish to see if I'd recognize so I could help you. I have no idea how I found them originally. I'm always doing music searches. I also looked at my youtube history, but this was too long ago; prob. about 2 months. Kicking myself I didn't add them into my Amazon list (where I frequently put artists just so I won't forget, but I didn't do it this time). Not finding the band I recall coming across; sorry. Did think of another girl band, even though, for me, they're a little too gauzy/psycheldic/lo-fi:
