Hello, world!

Greetings, I'm Swoop_Doza, but you can call me Swoop, Swoopy, Swoo, Swoopert Doozert, or Doza.

I'm returning to the life of internet forums because it is a fun way to meet new people and, hopefully, find new music.

I guess a good way to kick things off is to state the sweet, sweet details of my life that I feel comfortable sharing. I am 25 years old, female, and currently reside in Ohio. I have a full time, professional job, along with a ****ty part time job. I used to perform music in bands and such, but haven't been active in like, 7 years.

Music that interests me; skate punk, hardcore, powerviolence, ska, death metal, grindcore, emo, screamo, trip hop, hip hop, trap, chopped and screwed, horrorcore (like Kool Keith, Esham, and early three 6 mafia), turntablism, digital hardcore, industrial, gabber, and pretty much all electronic music.

I'm kinda into everything, so it had to narrow down.

But anyways, hey!

I always respect that DJ Paul can always remix one of his own classics like that. He has such vision.

All I gotta say, "Say goodbye to the tangerine skies, say hello, say hello, to tomorrow."

That song ****ing sucks. I don't know why it's a thing. It's terrible.

To be completely honest, I really don't listen to much KMK. I just happened to remember that song because my older brother used to listen to it, along with "Suburban Life"

I heard one digital hardcore band and didn't like it at all.

Powerviolence is closely related to grindcore. It’s like hardcore fused with extreme metal. It’s often very political, bands are typically far left in association. Good lifting music.

It's actually not. It's like grindcore WITHOUT the metal.

Really depends on what you already listen to. Really nothing like Hardcore at all, so if you came into looking for hardcore punk with electronic influences, you came to wrong genre.

Hey, thanks for the welcome.

Personally, I'd argue powerviolence isn't an actual genre of music, but it does exist. It's hard to describe exactly.

Good bands; Spazz, dropdead, Crossed Out, In/Humanity, Afgrund, Despise You, and of course, Infest.

Hi Swoop, nice to meet you.

ziggywas 03-31-2019 11:18 AM

swoop and Dharma
i heard half of the bands/clips swoop wrote and dharma linked to and now i m sure that powerviolence is not for me, be it an existing music genre or not. the hardcore-est i will be able to enjoy will stay what it was (fugazi, big black, Biafra and the Melvins, nothing else comes to mind right now) cant say i havent tried.

I gave Rabbit Junk a try and it was basically every trashy trendy rock genre of their decade thrown into a huge pile of cringe and cliche. (I'm not above that, I just don't like every single genre they cover) They had pop punk, metalcore and numetal with electronic influenced production that was also grabbing at the sonic trends with in that genre starting with the techno of 2004 and ending in dubstep wub bass with the industrial aggrotech squashed in between.

DMBFFF 04-12-2019 03:53 PM

I'm not really into rap.

The first 2:34 of 36:11 kinda gets the point across.
