Hello MusicBanter World!

Hello guys,

I'm Martin. I was born in Argentina, but moved to Spain when I was 12 (21 years ago...).

My preferences in music include some Argentine soloists and groups (Charly García, León Gieco or La Renga), as well as progressive rock artists (Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Jethro Tull).

Aside from music, I love reading, writing - I write poetry! -, watching movies, hanging out with friends. If you feel like it, ask me for more info :D

Welcome. I love Artaud by Pescado Rabioso, I think that's Argentine music?

Hi and welcome. I have very little experience of Argentinian music, but this is a good prog band from there.

I had the opportunity to see Paco Pena & his Flamenco dance company in concert once. It was such an amazing show. I don’t know how often he does world tours, but I kinda regret not seeing him play on stage more often.

Hi there. I just joined myself, and this is my first post.
I’ve been listening to Sugarman by Rodriguez. He was a Detroit, MI based Mexican-American who has a documentary written about him. My Rodriguez CD is actually the soundtrack to this film, rather appropriately called Searching For Sugarman.

Love me some King Crimson and respect for a writer.

Drugs & music are on my mind at the moment as you’ll see if you click on the Drugs & Music thread in the classical section of the forum. As to Rodriguez the song Suger Man earned him the "Sugar Man" moniker. Nobody really knows what the "silver magic ships" represent, but the "jumpers" are amphetamines, the "coke" is cocaine, and "sweet Mary Jane" is marijuana.
And welcome to this strange little musical coven.
