I new. hoping to find a musical community.

Hey guys, my projects name is mandy's little brother. Stuff is on bandcamp. Ive been making music for 5 years or so now. Ideally I want to build an online presence and I want to find a group of people that I can support and be supported by in terms of music creation. Hopefully that happens here!

Thanks for reading! Dont be shy to reach out, I lonely lol.

Hey welcome. You'll find a lot of weird people here, myself possibly the weirdest, but we don't bite (assuming we've been fed: hmmm, what's that you have there? Smells nice! Hey, I warned you...) however the idea of promoting your music here is frowned upon, at least until you've made yourself a proper part of the community. Music Banter isn't a place for people to advertise or try to get support for their music projects. It's a discussion site (ostensibly) so my advice is join a few conversations, get to know people, and after some time, when everyone knows you're here to stay, you may be able to broach the subject of your music.

Best of luck and see you around!

PS Starting off by telling people what kind of music you're into is always a good way to get going. As is cash. We all accept cash. :) And all major credit cards.

Ok! thanks for the guidance and thank you for the warm welcome! Some of my favorite artists are mount eerie, julien baker, pedro the lion, townes van zandt, parquet courts, diiv, gillian welch too name a few! And yourself? Im gonna hold off on the whole cash thing for now lmao, but i am glad to know all major credit cards are accepted.

Hey welcome! Btw, I replied to your request for recommendations in this thread - hopefully there's something there you haven't heard before:

Watch him: he's a vampire! :yikes:

Townes van Zandt. Mmmm. I like that world of works. Gets me high thinking about how low his somberness can go.

mandyslittlebrother 08-18-2022 05:29 PM

well said. For all his somberness, he always remained committed to his poetry and to his song and philosophy. I think thats whats so alluring about him. The struggle of his life was to funnel all the sadness, brokeness, aloneness into beautiful music. And he succeded to that end, imo.
