Default casiopeia

i’m not sure if they’re jazz or not but i think they’re some sort of jazz/funk, but i don’t know much about either genre.

i haven’t seen them mentioned here so what do you guys think?

i listened to their self titled record today and it was great. i’m usually not a big fan of virtuoso/highly technical jazz playing because it usually feels like they’re being technical for the sake of being technical but casiopeia definitely makes it work and i love it.

Casiopea is a good fun japanese jazz fusion band, they are good musicians and they just basically play really fun upbeat jams mostly. I personally like more complex jazz music but I have some of their albums.

the Hori Katsumi Project
The Square
Prism
Omega Tribe
Jun Fukamachi
Malta
Toshiko Kadomatsu

and countless other japanese jazz funk music artists, I have some 1000 albums or so of it.
