i’m not sure if they’re jazz or not but i think they’re some sort of jazz/funk, but i don’t know much about either genre.
i haven’t seen them mentioned here so what do you guys think? i listened to their self titled record today and it was great. i’m usually not a big fan of virtuoso/highly technical jazz playing because it usually feels like they’re being technical for the sake of being technical but casiopeia definitely makes it work and i love it. |

Casiopea is a good fun japanese jazz fusion band, they are good musicians and they just basically play really fun upbeat jams mostly. I personally like more complex jazz music but I have some of their albums.
you might also like the Hori Katsumi Project The Square Prism Omega Tribe Jun Fukamachi Malta Toshiko Kadomatsu and countless other japanese jazz funk music artists, I have some 1000 albums or so of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSyCFWS5bvA
