I'm assuming you mean just in general, as opposed to song writing or guitar prowess. Anyway, Jimi Hendrix blows the others away in all three, if you ask me.

To each his own, man!!!As far as longevity and being a great songwriter, I'd have to choose Eric Clapton...
...I mean, just listen to Cream!!!To this day, he still has a great solo career as well as being highly respected by many other greats!!!B.B. King was great too and seeing that he's now 80+ and still playing...
...that's something to respect and be influenced by!!! Albert King was a wild one, if ya know what I mean.I love listening to his unique sound!!!Jimi Hendrix is one that gets most of the credit from alot of people, although many of his songs get old by being overplayed so much.Taj Mahal is great musically and I would recommend any blues enthusiast/guitarist to check Taj Mahal out!!!
In closing, I've gotta say that Stevie Ray Vaughan is most likely my favorite soundwise!!!I love his sound, tone and way that he naturally played.........especially live!!!As much as I like Stevie Ray Vaughan for his tone and live performances, I've probally gotta say that Eric Clapton is most likely the best all around blues guitarist!!!Stevie Ray Vaughan wasn't around for us anywhere near as long as Eric Clapton has been and he's truly one to be missed!!!Eric Clapton did alot with Cream...
...and amazed us all with so much more later on!!!If Stevie Ray Vaughan was around just as long, I'm sure he would've done a whole lot more and, therefore, make my decision for calling him the best ever much more easier than I already am, God bless the greats!!!

I voted for "Ol' B." B.B. King might just be the most important electric guitarist of the last century. In terms of influence, he is right there with Christian, Walker, Les Paul, Hendrix, etc. He has had, to date, a 56 year recording career during which he has pretty much defined contemporary urban blues. His string-bending, ability to "slide" into and out of a note, and his vibrato are unmatched IMO. Granted, I'm a hugely biased fanboy of his(I have approx. 45 CDs of his spanning '49 to '05), but I have listened to all of the above, and they are all great(Hendrix, of course is my favorite rock guitarist).

Jimmi Hendrix by far is the greatest guitar player in the world. The only problem about him is he built his knowledge upon other artists such as BB King and Albert King

I certainly wouldn't consider that fact a "problem".

Yeah because when you pick, it means that basically Jimi Hendrix is a addition to their styles so basically picking Jimi means you are picking BB and Albert
