Yes, Rhapsody in Blue is one of my favorite songs, and Porgy and Bess is a fantastic opera/play/whatever it'd be called. Ella and Louis doing Summertime is beautiful...

one of the greatest songwriters ever. he said that he always had a tune in his head, was constantly writing, and that he had too many songs in his head to write them all down.

my favourite version of summertime is one by pat metheny and jim hall on acoustic and electric guitar

grew up with a player piano in the house, the 2 large rolls were of rhapsody in blue. to this day, still my favorite piece of music

Gershwin is brilliant... I personally like his piano concerto in F the best, specifically movement III.
