Looking for a vocalist similar to Great Gig in the Sky...

I know, I know, it's the most stereotypical rock album in the world, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, but the standout track for me has always been "Great Gig in the Sky", in which session vocalist Clare Torry does an amazing vocal improvisation. She moans, screams, wails to a climax, brings it back down, ebbs and flows beautifully, all with no words.
I'm looking for a whole album, or preferably artist of works like this, just solo vocalist vocalizing in a very cathartic manner. My other favorite vocalization from the rock genre is John Lennon's Mother and Well Well Well from his solo album Plastic Ono Band. In these songs he repeats a phrase, and as it gets more intense he starts screaming it more and more; in Well Well Well there are many measures just filled my him screaming his heart out. He was influenced by "Primal Scream" therapy that he was engaged in with Yoko Ono. Basically the screams were pure catharsis through and through. Amazing.
Anything you could recommend along these lines, I would be eternally grateful for.
Thanks

Lisa Gerard of Dead Can Dance and many film soundtracks is certainly an interesting vocalist. She does'nt go in for histronics more quite phrasing and chanting etc.
