Well, I'll pretty much repeat my post from the other thread in here:

Mahavishnu Orchestra
Brand X
Yellowjackets
Medeski, Martin & Wood

I suppose some Soft Machine is fusionesque too.

I wouldn't really have thought to put Zappa in for this but ok, er I think i'll go with wether report too if acceptable although an explination of Jazz 'fusion' would be nice.

Can Bella Fleck and the Flecktones fall into this one? they seem to fit in with most, if so them also ...and more so.

Jazz fusion is almost like a crossover. It can incorporate elements of funk or rock etc. I'm sure there are others on here more knowledgeable. I'm listening to David matthews at the moment and his own personal soundtrack to DUNE which could be classed as Jazz Fusion.

Hot Rats is definitely fusion. But Frank Zappa is, as he should be, unclassifiable.

Nonetheless:

classics:
Frank Zappa
Soft Machine
Miles Davis

stretching it:
Naked City
A.D.D. Trio
Captain Beefheart

**** fusion.
But if I had to say anything, I'd say:
Weather Report

i'm not a big fusion fan, but weather report is tight. 8:30 is a solid album.

Lol, had to edit his last name to replace the 'o' with a zero. It got flagged as swearing.
