Jazz Books

Hello. Can anyone recommend a good book for a musician looking to get into jazz?

Thanks!

Books are great but you really should try to learn as much by ear as you possibly can. If you eliminate the visual processing of reading notes your playing will sound much more authentic,

I don't mean to discount reading at all however...reading charts and melodies is required for a well rounded player as well as understanding basic harmony and chord scale relationships etc...

any David Baker books are great for be-bop
