From jazz i like Laura Fygi, Dianne Krall, Liz Wright( she is a great songwriter and singer) i hope you'll enjoy it too.

Have anyone heard of Spencer Day or Matt Dusk? I am working with both of them on their Facebook & Twitter. Both are young artists with a fresh take on jazz vocals.

I know who Matt Dusk is, I believe he is from Toronto and went to a university here. That's cool that you're working with him.

Terje Rypdal/ Miroslav Vitous/ Jack DeJohnette

I mentioned this album in the drummers thread. I'm not sure if fusion is the right description of this music but it is certainly well away from more traditional jazz sounds. The whole album has some great moods and fantastic interplay between these three musicians.

Track 2: Den Forste Sne

Anyone recommend some other noteworthy albums in a similar vein?

Michael and Randy Brecker do some nice stuff. You can try a piece of theirs entitled "Some Skunk Funk" or an album of Michael entitled "Wide Angles". You can't go wrong with Gary Willis which includes Tribal Tech, and Triphasic. Exivious is good too but a bit less jazzy.

So I've been thinking about getting into some Blues and Jazz. I'm trying to decide if I should get something from Hendrix, Vaughan, or BB King. What do you guys think?

Texas Flood? Electric Ladyland?

(Also, should I get the remasters, or the normal 90s editions?)

Charles Mingus's Finest Hour
This is compilation but it's a really good one. It's a great introduction not just to Mingus but to jazz in general.
