I just watched Django and I love a couple of the songs off the soundtrack. 1. Anthony Hamilton & Elayana Boynton - Freedom 2. John Legend - Who did that to you. 3. Brother Dege - Too old to die young. Not typically in my style of music but those songs just have that "it" factor. Looking for songs similar. Pandora, etc... have been as helpful as a bag of rocks.

i'm a big rock and punk fan myself, but i'm trying to expand my horizon.

Can you guys point me towards some good jazz & blues songs & bands?
Like good stuff to start of with?

I would really appreciate it, greetz

Do you like blues in a more city style or something more base and swampy like Louisiana style? Also do you like any fusions with Dixieland, Gospel or Country? Candie Kane (sp?) does blues with a punk flavor.

When I started listening to jazz I started listening to Miles Davis' remastered album 'Round About Midnight out of which Two Bass Hit was my favorite tune. At the time I was more into classic or 90's alternative rock and I felt it made a good transition from those. Hope this helps

I really liked the album In fiesta by Hideo Shiraki. It actually got me into jazz can someone tell me another artist like them?

Jazz homework assignment

So I play drums and I want to get into the Jazz band. My drum teacher said to look up some Jazz musicians for the week. I'm not late, I still have til Saturday. I listened to some John Coltrane but it slightly bores me. So send me some Jazz bands/musicians. Thanks guys.

Why not listen to jazz drummers like Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Billy Cobham & Art Blakey

Anyone ever come across this guitarist ? From what I hear of the three clips available on Youtube, he has a smooth, understated style that reminds me of Steve Kimmock:-

Art Blakey, if you haven't done your assignment yet. This is the only answer.
