Here's one track from an album of cool jazz fusion from Volker Kriegel, guitarist. Although the cover shows guitars, the music is nicely balanced with plenty of keyboard soloing too:-

This is great music to listen to while you're typing some Christmas emails to England (and probably works for other destinations too.)

^ Yes, he was new to me until a couple of days ago as well. Here's another of his albums, Octember, that'll only take 35-mins to check out:-

Nothing spectacular so far on Octember, but consistent, sensitive, top-quality musicianship running through it all. That's my opinion anyway, but I'll defer to your verdict on Volker's assailability. ;)

Har-You Percussion Group - Har-You Percussion Group

Quote:

Their super-rare legendary Latin funk release originally came out on ESP in 1969/1970. Although the title says Percussion Group, this is actually a Latin soul group led by master conga player Montego Joe as part of the Harlem Youth program of the 60's. (Alto legend Jackie McLean worked with the group at one point earlier). A fantastic raw mix of funky bass, heavy drums, burning horn lines and soulful vocals, this is quite simply one of the great Latin releases of all-time. Includes the monster tracks "Welcome to the Party," "Feed Me Good," and "Oua-Train."

This is such a winner. Surprisingly eclectic, too.

It is. Discogs has it listed as a 1968 release, though. And the original album cover is a bit different, also...
