Benny Goodman

Yea I know he did some swing stuff to but recently I got a collection of old Benny Goodman 78's and I cant stop listening to them. Itsd got really interesting little columns in it too with notes on the adaptation to the 8 beat boogiw woogie style its pretty cool stuff. I really dig the track Roll Em' So any other fans?

I love Benny Goodman!

If I could go back in time to a music era it would be during the days of Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller. They brought a new meaning to the jazz sound of their time.

Have you seen the movie that portrays Benny's life? Excellent movie entitled "The Benny Goodman Story".

No I havnt seen it yet, but Ill have to look into it. I dont know what it is about goodman but his music just carries this awsome feeling with it. The first time I listened to Mad House I had to play it like 2 times because it was so good. Deffinetly one of my favorite white jazz bands.

It would definitely be worth looking up and watching.

One O'Clock Jump and Stompin' At the Savoy are among my favorites. I'll have to look up Madhouse, can't really recall that one.

He wasn't always all white you know. Teddy Wilson played with him for a while as well as Lionel Hampton.

The movie will give you some good history about him.
