What is it called??

I have ben looking all over for someone to help me with a sound, I think it's jazz and done with a trumpit.

LOL Trying to describe a sound is hard but I will give it a shot.

I picture it to be from Louisiana, something you would hear late at night, deep in an ally, seeping through your window on a hot night. I have heard it in the move The Crow and it's in the new movie Sin City.

I hope that helps. I have been going nuts trying to find maybe an artists name or what that sound is called. :)

Thanks very much for listening to me.

Kitty

Are you talking about a sound or a song?

Angelixx_Kitty 04-02-2005 12:08 PM

A sound.

Dj Soda pop was on the right track, but the sound was like a background sound and not a song in the movie The Crow.

It's like 1 lonely trumpit, it's almost like you would find some old man playing it on the streest like he was sad or the blues.I guess it would make you think of lost loves and just general hurt in your life. LOL Its very hard to describe this sound.

When I find out what this sound is, I want to go to iMesh and dl enough of this sound to fill a CD. So a name of someone that plays it would also be cool.

Thanks!

I'm going out on a limb here, but Check out the song Sanctuary off of Miles Davis's Bitches Brew album

Angelixx_Kitty 04-02-2005 09:39 PM

That is almost it, but not so long and drawn out. No bachground music and ........ I wish there was a way for me to let you listen to that sound. I have the movie The Crow and could record it some how.

Angelixx_Kitty 04-02-2005 09:51 PM

Sorry to post 2 times in a row but if you listen to the background trumpit just after sara says her intro to the movie, you can hear it. Is it a trumpit??

You can't miss this sound, it's so heart wrenching, make you cry over a lost love type of sound. LOL

Thanks!

maybe a New Orleans Death march theme?

Angelixx_Kitty 04-04-2005 06:09 PM

What is a Death March? Sounds Intresting!!

Is it a Day of the dead thing? Is the day of the dead even real? I have heard about it only in movies. I would love to go to one if there is!

Ok I'll DL some Death March stuff and see. I will let you know.

Angelixx_Kitty 04-08-2005 02:41 AM

It could be a sax. I dont know. LOL all I know is a sound.

The crow score kinda came up woth nothing, really. I love it though and have it now.

Ok, so far I have a few songs fron the Sin City Score. Goldies Dead has the sound in it. Well kinda. That sounds like a saxophone being played really low. thats an awesome sound also hummm, maybe I'm wrong about this sound. Is it a sax? When I hear it being played in public and it's rare when I do hear it. It never has any music behind it, just only that sound.

LOL now I'm lost. So now If I can only find that sax sound and only that sound I would be happy.

I'll settle for someone to play it for me!! LOL

Red Special 06-03-2005 02:34 PM

I must admit I haven't seen either of the movies but, from the picture I'm building in my head, I get the impression you might like to listen to "Small Change" by Tom Waits or some of Dr. John's stuff too.

I could be way off or you might already know everything by both of those guys but theres a suggestion for you if you want to get some "sounds" onto a CD...
