Shearing & Improv

Hi,
I'm new to Jazz and finally trying to learn more about it. I have two and a half questions. Pleaae look at my other post below.

How important was George Shearing in the developement of Jazz and how 'big' was he in the USA?

Please don't create multiple threads simply to direct them to each other when two questions can be asked in the same thread.
Completely unnecessary.

Threads merged and edited.

You'd get a better welcome in the introductions forum, honestly.
As for answering the question, I'll leave it to more qualified posters to answer. I simply moderated your posts. Give it some time.

George Shearing was very important writing amongst other songs the classic standard 'Lullabye of birdland' as well as being a virtuoso pianist and performer.
