I just found out that Michael Burks passed away back in may....only 54 yrs old.....if you've never heard him, you should. He will be missed.

This is unbelievable compared to the blues guitarists of the time when you see his speed at the end. I'll take buddy of Clapton when it comes to playing the blues.

Buddy Guy is The Guy!! Second only to BB King for me he is the best guitarist from their generation. Love his playing and licks. Have you watched this:

Ya Ive seen that. BB is the king for his pioneering factor. There are pretty big differences in the playing. BB is so smooth, buddy is so intense. They were complete opposites. While buddy was probably the more technical player, he didn't have the distinct style of bb. There are others who can match the ferocity of buddy, but nobody can match those sweet, smooth, spine chilling phrases of BB.

That's so true! And that's the reason I put King before Buddy, I think King plays the blues a little better. Otherwise, influentially I think they are pretty much even. What do you think?

I think king was more influential. I mean, he influenced guy, He came before. Buddy is still one of the Greatest

True, of course BB was more influential BLUES guitarist, but Buddy was way more influential for the rock genre. He was even called "the bridge between blues and rock n' roll". And what is more, he was, I'd say, as influential as BB for the British white blues wave.
