Charles Gayle Trio - Streets

Absolutely loving this album at the minute. Was wondering if any of you guys heard any of his previous work (there are dozens of albums on RYM) and which I should make the effort to listen to.

Nobody? Okay.

I agree mate.

I've never heard of him but the track you posted sounds pretty good, sort of like a less aggressive version the Paul Flaherty/Chris Corsano releases.

It's not the best track on the album, but the only one I could find quickly. I would certainly suggest you listen to it if you liked that track.

I'll definitely be checking it out. :)

Likewise, I'd recommend The Beloved Music by Paul Flaherty & Chris Corsano.

I know this is a really late response, and you've probably heard more by now, but for the folks checking out this thread later, Repent is a really, really excellent piece of free jazz.

Milford Graves once described Charles Gayle by saying "imagine if Albert Ayler was still alive". Wait, did you need any other reason to check out Gayle's work?
