Jazz really is a deep genre with a while lot of different sounding stuff.
Jazz that I think is good: Eric Dolphy Miles Davis Jelly Roll Morton Dexter Gordon Thelonious Monk Dave Brubreck Charlie Mingus Any dixieland stuff Duke Ellington Ella Fitzgerald just avoid Kenny G

does anyone discuss disc jockeys of the 50s who played jazz? don't remember most of the names, but my favorite was Phil Mckellar. His theme song was written by Geo Shearing named the feller mckellar.

I agree with all of thr above, but would like to add a few newer groups.
Badbadnotgood The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble Bohren & der Club of Gore Yesterdays New Quintet Contemporary Noise Quintet Hidden Orchestra Floex Those are a few new jazz groups that I think are fantastic. Enjoy... I hope.
