Neil Ardley: Kaleidoscope of Rainbows is an album divided into numbered "rainbow" tracks. This is the prologue and first rainbow, but I feel it should appear under K, because Kaleidoscope is what it is part of.

^ I've heard about this album here and there over the years, usually in glowing terms, and yet never managed to get it. Time to remedy that.

Archie Shepp - Los Olvidados

Well, I hope you enjoy it, ribbons. It´s an album that´s highly regarded by the critics, but doesn´t seem to be in circulation very much. For me, that opening track is really the most striking of the Rainbows.

In turn, I´m not familiar with anything by Archie Shepp. For some reason, the Los Ovidados clip doesn´t open for me, but I went to YouTube and found some great saxophone playing on his Magic of Ju Ju album - so thanks for the tip off ! :)

See you there perhaps, ziggywas ?

True the 100's gonna be harder. and plankton's posts were even beforhand hard for me to figure out.. on the other hand i prefer to play this with numbers as they are universal. Plus i dont know much about jazz. On the other hand i (as everybody) dig Bill Evans:

Bill Evans - One For Helen

^ Well, you made it as far as one contribution, which is more than many MBers! Well done ;)

I listened to both Nefertiti and One For Helen, but alas I'm not a huge fan of jazz piano, so here's a nudge in a different direction: an old favourite of mine, Cross Collateral by Passport. It's jazz/rock fusion really, but still counts, right?
