Neil Ardley: Kaleidoscope of Rainbows is an album divided into numbered "rainbow" tracks. This is the prologue and first rainbow, but I feel it should appear under K, because Kaleidoscope is what it is part of.

^ I've heard about this album here and there over the years, usually in glowing terms, and yet never managed to get it. Time to remedy that.

I listened to both Nefertiti and One For Helen, but alas I'm not a huge fan of jazz piano, so here's a nudge in a different direction: an old favourite of mine, Cross Collateral by Passport. It's jazz/rock fusion really, but still counts, right? |
