Jamie Cullum

Caught him last night at the Berklee Performance Center. For a jazz guy, he's really high energy, highly unorthodox (beatboxes while slapping the wooden parts of the piano), and it generally a remarkable showman. Aside from the obvious hits (All at Sea, Twentysomething) and his amazing covers (Lover, you should come over and High and Dry) he finished with a solo version of Grand Torino. Didn't know he had this, but I absolutely loved it.

Spoiler for Grand Torino:

Spoiler for Grand Torino:

This was the first song I heard from him, and got turned on to him.
He has a weekly jazz program { originates from BBC) where he features different artists with background on the artists and songs. He has a great mind and you're right. he's definitely outside the box.
