Question Tom Waits Soundalikes

Hello there all,
I'm looking for something that is a similar sound (or feel) to Tom Waits on albums like "Small Change" or "Blue Valentine".

i've been looking and asking around for ages now and i've never found anything quite right.

So now i turn to all you capable folks of the forums seeking your collective knowledge and wisdom! haha

If anyone has any ideas i would really like to hear 'em! gotta love that classic Waits!

cheers

Some of Modest Mouse's stuff is very similar (and probably influenced by) Rain Dogs.

In particular, "This Devil's Workday", "King Rat", and "Jesus Christ Was an Only Child".

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Jesus Christ Was an Only Child, in particular, is so much better than Tom Waits phony bull**** I can't even imagine that.

Compare "Gun Street Girl" and "Singapore" to the three tracks I listed earlier.

That track Singapore is exactly the reason why I hate Waits so much. ****ing completely canned cliche crap packaged as avant garde. It's straight up fake. He's a goddamn imposter. Somebody anybody go listen to that bull**** and tell me I'm lying.
