Blues fan here
Was going to post some old prewar blues, a little King Solomon Hill, Oscar Woods, Ramblin' Thomas, that old Texas/Louisiana border stuff but, I need 15 posts before I qualify, so....
Can we talk about some music? |

That old stuff is done by regions...
All Mississippi blues gets stuck under....Mississippi Delta Blues Memphis/Tennessee Texas Louisiana Alabama St. Louis Georgia Piedmont/East Coast Each region having a dozen or so artists who best represent the music. Then you have the instrument, who plays what? Now add the decade, 20's, 30's, 40is So it;s....Robert Johnson 30's/guitar/Mississippi Delta Peetie Wheatsraw....30's/piano/St.Louis Bessie Smith....20's/vocals/Tennessee Probably around 500ish or so old blues cats that deserve mention. |

 Looks like you are an expert on early blues, so pretty soon you'll meet Psi-Fi here on the blues threads, I'm sure. For myself, I'm more inclined to listen to people who stood on the shoulders of those originals; Dylan, Ry Cooder and electric blues. I used to debate with a poster who has since left us: who is better, SRV or Roy Buchanan? I wonder if you have a position on that admittedly ridiculous question.

Haha! Yeah, sometimes "no answer" is the best answer!
I´m sure I'll meet you on the music boards soon enough, but for now I have to rush out. Hope you enjoy swapping opinions and recs here.
