a question about ipod's
i'm thinking about buying an ipod ( mini or nano, it isn't importaint), but i've heard that you can only transfer files on in through itunes, well since there's no way in hell i'm paying for mp3's i also heard that there is a certain program that alows you to transfer files to an ipod without the itunes crap, but it's a beta version or something , so my question is do any of you have an ipod and how do you transfer files on it and in general what are your experiences with it ( especially if you use the program ).....

You don`t need to pay for MP3s to put them on an I Pod.
All I do is play my MP3s via I Tunes & they upload onto it. |
Yeah, if you make iTunes the main audio player on your comp then there isn't a problem. people try to circumvent things with so many diffrent programs. iPod just rapped you for 400 dollars they don't care if you download illegally and get busted by the feds.

iTunes is the format both for downloading music and ripping music from CD. Basically, if it's on your PC iTunes can get it on your iPod, regardless of how it got there. It just provides an alternate, costly, way to get the stuff onto your PC. Personally I'd opt for something else - I recently got a 6 gigabyte Sanyo for roughly £40 less than it would cost the iPod equivalent, and it hasn't given me problems yet.
