Default Bathroom remodel — what I'd do differently

We finished our bathroom remodel not long ago and I figured I'd pass along a few lessons in case anyone else is thinking about it. Spend the money on the stuff you can't see — proper waterproofing and a quiet, powerful exhaust fan made the biggest difference. The tile and fixtures are nice, but they don't matter if moisture gets behind everything. My one regret is rushing the grout color choice; live with the samples for a few days before you commit. Anyone here done a reno recently?

No, but never rush anything as far as you can help it. I don't care what it is.
