so who else is a poor student?
I've decided that I love money, but the actual fact that I need it sucks. horribly. I work twenty hours a week, earning an average of $8.5 or 9$/h (i work on commission). It pays pretty well, but I also have a lot of expenses. thank god my parents are paying for my tuition, but my supplies have already racked up almost $800. My new camera and two lenses will cost and extra $3300 or so, and my ski pass this year was $619. not to mention I might have to buy new skis this year if i can't get them on warranty (still waiting to find that out) since I broke my skis last year. what's more, i need $3300 in my bank account to get a work visa for new zealand for the summer. so yeah, i'm a poor student, and i need money. anyone wanna help me rob a casino?

you're a poor student and you can afford skiing and the equipment and a trip to new zealand?.....honey, you don't know what poor is.....try living off of omlets because you can't afford to buy food.....
|
Wow I never thought i`d ever agree with Adidasss but he`s got a point there.
If you were that poor skis would be the last of your worries. |
if you were that poor, you'd have already eaten the skis. and more than likely the snow too.
|
When I was a lad we used to dream of eating snow.
Kids today don`t know they`re born. |
i believe all of you that skiis are the last thing on mind. but if i was in his shoes i would wanna rob a casino with a group. hheee im only 14 hopefully ill be succeful in a few years. plus i have a good pile of money in my bank.

I am both a poor student and a poor student.
I have several coughlowcough grades and my funds are dwindling. alas. |
wow way to take everything i said WAY too litterally. obviously i know the difference between being actually poor and just not having the money to do everything that i'd want to do. I'm just pointing out that it's hard to work 20 hours a week and go to school full time. and to everyone who said skiing should be the least of my worries, you've obviously never met me. my life quite litterally revolves around skiing, and to anyone who says i should get my priorities straight, i do have my priorities in order, they just happen to be in a different order than most people. I've spent my entire life up till now sacrificing my time and energy doing things that OTHER people think i should be doing, and now I've finally decided what i should be doing in my life and i'm just commenting on the fact that it's tough to juggle everything.

^ for f*ck's sake i know i have it better than most people, i never said I didnt. i'm just saying that I'm stressed out at the moment. and no i don't work at mcdonalds, i work at sportchek.

you canadians get ****ty pay. 9 bucks an hour? i earned more than that when i was 14. im going for a job tommorow that pays between 15 and 20 dollars an hour. and thats only on weekdays, more on weekends. you guys get boned
|
I am busy almost everyday, I get up at 6.30am, get home at around 8pm, earn a piss poor 9.50.
It is hard doing things your own way at first Jibber, but you get used to it, I find it better to have that independence for myself, it sure beats catering to everyone else. |
geeze and i thought i had alot of stuff to pay...
Oh JibJib, id loan you some money if i had some.. but im afraid not soooo i suggest you sell your body..makes lots of cash :) |
Being a poor student is great, compared to being a poor graduate with £20,000 of debt (approx. $40,000US). You've got all the financial problems, 10 times the workload and none of the freshers (except on weekends). Uni was a lot of fun and well worth the investment, but you wouldn't get me going back now.
