I'm enjoying one of these tonight. I learned this today. Jesuit Brother Ambroise was apparently Canada's first recorded brewer. What is it with religious folks making beer? The Belgian monastery make crazy potent beer, and now this guy? |
I think I've heard about quite a few monastaries making beer or wine, it does appear to be a "thing". Maybe it keeps the lights on.
Or.. lights off? For the meditation. Keeps that water bill paid anyhow, they seem to garden often. |

I feel the same way about Molson and Labatt.
Despite people up here talking smack about American beer, there is a TON of great beer south of us. Dogfish Head in Delaware, Rogue in Oregon, the gagillion beers Sam Adams make, Alchemist in Vermont. Those are just a few breweries from whom I've sampled their stuff. I like Lakefront in Wisconsin as well. Americans make the best IPAs. Dogfish with their 60 minute, Alchemist with their Focal Banger, they're just awesome. There's also this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAhQ5JjwhV0 |
I'm just drinking bloody marys again anyways.
Beer doesn't cut it some weeks. Sometimes I need to remind myself that I want a house on 10 acres in the next 10 years, way more than I want an easy breezy low responsibility career now. So like.. buck up, buttercup. Whiny little bitch. Get **** done, son. House on 10 acres. Be a sheep or live the dream? |
Good luck with the dream. That sounds nice.

Hoppy IPAs are my fave but lazy beer companies need to cut it out with the "skip filtration and call it hazy" trend. I mostly drink tequila these days though, was sick of the beer gut.

Had some really exciting new acquisitions today after a day trip to a tourist trap not too far.
