today I had this drawing on a canvas stolen out of my car. I dont even have a radio in my car and the keys were in it and they stole my sketched out picture/pre-painting.. its just a picture! Iam really hot about it.i just finished a midterm that I didnt do too good at because I was so distracted.
does anyone else have bad news?

Spikey 11-16-2005 03:19 PM

Oh no that's awful :( Sorry to hear that.

mosesandtherubberducky 11-16-2005 03:23 PM

wow im sorry about that, my day was pretty good till i got to second load at school and triped on a curb (satan makes them) and skinned my knee and hand really bad. i can't play guitar until my hand gets better :(

Spikey 11-16-2005 03:29 PM

I got a paper cut on my hand. That's the only thing I can think of :) Sorry to hear that moses, hope it gets bettwer real soon :(
I pulled something in my hand and couldn't play for a week without it hurting and that was really fustrating.

mosesandtherubberducky 11-16-2005 03:35 PM

hehe i know what we should do to all of the pop star guitarists..... break thier fingers and steal thier noses

crimepartner 11-16-2005 03:36 PM

I used to do boxing and my hands were always f...kd up. I want to, but I think I should just stick to whats easier for me. I never want to train for 7 hours a day again! woo hoo.

are you a girl moses? that sad for your knee if you are. I like it when girls get hurt cus then you can help them.

mosesandtherubberducky 11-16-2005 03:38 PM

mosesandtherubberducky 11-16-2005 03:44 PM

Scarlett O'Hara 11-16-2005 07:30 PM

Life doesn't suck, people just suck at it!

mosesandtherubberducky 11-16-2005 07:52 PM

he wasn't saying life sucks but today sucks and my hand still hurts damnit

Scarlett O'Hara 11-16-2005 07:56 PM

I know that, it was a general statement.

mosesandtherubberducky 11-17-2005 11:53 AM

you have a point. to many people bitch about how thier life sucks when they haven't even asked the person next to them what is going on in theirs. and most of them don't have any problems most of them are off quite well but they don't think about the home less or AIDs patients. im happy where i am and hope that i don't end up like the kind of people i just ranted about

crimepartner 11-17-2005 12:01 PM

I left my car keys, my wallet, and a cd player and cds in my car and someone took my 2ft by 2ft picture, which is worth nothing! my car is probably the dirtiest and it has no radio or even a cup holder. I think my art is the only thing worth anything to me, and would pay anything in the amount wanted for it back. materials can go on not missed but I created that for myself and its rediculous that someone would take it and not my car, money,or cd player.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 11-17-2005 12:03 PM

Things could always be worse.

Always.

crimepartner 11-17-2005 12:13 PM

I dont see it that way, I think Ive been through every non material loss available. maybe people go homeless because they realize that everything in society is worth nothing in the big picture.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 11-17-2005 12:16 PM

I see it that way. I may be a completely deluded optimist, but that's how I look at things when something depressing or irritating happens.. Because things could always be worse. They could be better, granted, but happiness is a state of mind so really, you're the one that decides when things get better for you.

Merkaba 11-17-2005 12:34 PM

Murphy's Law says that what can go wrong probably will go wrong.

Artist holds the same opinion as me I think it's upto you to look at things in your choice of light. Is the glass half empty or half full?

ArtistInTheAmbulance 11-17-2005 12:51 PM

Murphy's Law is just because its human nature to take things for granted. People don't notice it when things dont go wrong, but when they do they get in a huffy about it. So to most people's perspective, things always go wrong if they can, just because they don't appreciate it as much if they dont go wrong.

Hmm, Im trying hard to put what Im thinking into words, its harder than I thought..

Merkaba 11-17-2005 12:54 PM

Oh so your saying that people never appreciate when things go right, yet always complain when things go wrong.

Therefore making their lives more miserable than what they really are.

Exactly. People notice the bad much more than the worse. Hence why optimists are normally the happier people :)

Merkaba 11-17-2005 01:02 PM

:D

Yeah I semi think the same way except you've gone one step further and said taken into account that people take the good times for granted as well.

I always just thought it's upto you how bad you make things, hitting back in life as fast as you can is the best thing to do. You can't let things keep washing over you, It just whethers you away even more, making you feel even worse than you originally felt. Life will always be dealing you crap cards so you just gotta make sure you enjoy the good ones while you can.

i never sayed I wasn't happy. happyness only lasts when it is being lived, but it isnt that strong of an emotion. if I based my life on happyness I would just be covering my problems and never get anything done. I can understand your optimism, and you probably have alote of good influences and people taking care of everything you want..I dont expect any one like you to understand, and I wish I could live like you, but I cant. Iam a very hyper happy person in good moments when Iam with friends, but I dont see a reason to saying life is all shiny and sparkles, maybe if it was all handed to me.

Well, Im not trying to say that people don't notice the good. Im saying they take it for granted when nothing bad happens.. And yeah, your experience of life is just how good you make it and want it to be, but some people are just more comfortable being unhappy and miserable most of the time. Seems crazy to me, but live and let live..

Ah see thats where you're wrong. My life hasnt been "all shiny and sparkles", and when I was younger, people got fed up with me being upset and left me be. Thats what got me where I am today, 'cause I hated my younger years, I really really did. I went back to my secondary school last night for an awards evening, and I actually had to leave incase I made a scene, I couldnt stand being in a room full of people that used to hate me so much.. Yeah, Im completely going off on a tangent now, but.. The point remains. If it wasnt for a pretty crappy upbringing, I wouldnt be the optimist I am now, and I wouldnt have realised that seeing the best in things makes everything so much more enjoyable..

WOAH, Im sure that makes no sense. Ramble alert..

Thats what I was saying when I wrote that "Iam hyperly happy when I'm with friends..".I know that the moment wont matter when its gone so I make the best of it. I think your rambling has shown me your alittle on the same page. I said I understand your optimism. I just resent people that think life's great when they have had everything handed to them and have always had people to go to. I guess its a primal jelousy, (I dont know if thats spelled right).but still everyone thinks there problems are worst than others...Iam sure there's some millionaire crying about his drinks not being cold, thinking his life is way worst than anyones.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 11-17-2005 01:37 PM

Hah I see... Yeah, jealousy's a bitch with everyone, I dont think that makes you any worse. They have the right to think life is great though, its just annoying when the HUGE majority of people don't. Its sooooo much worse though, when people have a great life, and yet insist that their life is miserable.

crimepartner 11-17-2005 01:46 PM

exactly, and your optimism came off as that, but you didn't even know me.

fwew! agreed

THE GOLDEN STRING 11-17-2005 01:48 PM

I agree! I'm an optimist it's great. It always ends up with me being annoyed for people complaining and being negative because it's so noticeable!

I know! Most people are so well off compared to others who have absolutely nothing, who don't have food or shelter let along crappy love lives.

My life is damn close to perfect in my eyes, I've got everything I've ever wanted (only child), I've had great parents who cared about me and supported me, I'm a social butterfly so it's easy for me to make friends, and I've stuck at school so now I'm well set up for the future. Not trying to boast or make anyone feel bad, I'm just trying to be thankful.

Of course I didn't always used to think that, when I was 13 I thought my life was crap and I had low self esteem, but now, I'm blimmin' up myself and happy, in the least horrible way.

Er...that might not of made sense.
