Illegal music downloading

Hey guys

Well I haven't been around here even remotely as much as I'd like to be... hope everyone is well! The reason I have been MIA is mainly due to a ridiculous amount of uni work for my final year. My main piece of work is a dissertation on illegal music downloading, and as I'm scouring the net for articles I figured there might well some people on banter with some opinions, figures, sources, or ideas that I haven't thought of.

There's a lot more going on in the US than here in Scotland so anything you guys know is appreciated.

The broad view of the work is on the legal side. Mainly:

1. are the laws against downloading too difficult to enforce since the growth of downloading;

2. Is treatment of downloaders unfair?;

3. and Comparing the response to illegal downloading in the US and UK

If there's anything you think is worth mentioning or any good sites/contacts I might find useful, it would be much appreciated. Thanks. :)

Sorry for posting this in the lounge too, but I know it gets checked more than any other forum. ;)

Anything regarding the legality of downloading is probably best to contact the RIAA directly, and maybe if you can get in touch with the representatives of P2P sites and get a view from them, that might be able to tell you how downloading is changing, and how the users of these sites have been affected.

Thanks Franscar, that website was a wee gem. :)

Already tried looking for a contact no/email for RIAA.. there's nothing on the page. Kinda ironic huh? They're allowed all our details, we're not even treated to an email address to contact.
