Help out EDGE for once.

I was assigned to ask this question (as well as many others) to 15 or more people between 15 and 21 years old.
It's for a school survey and the responses will be recorded as anonymous.
Help me out?
:)

"What is one peice of advice that you would give to someone? How did you develop that wisdom?"

Muzak Geek 01-25-2006 12:00 PM

What - us old guys can't participate? I'm gonna follow this thread anyway, just to see how much "wisdom" a 15 to 21 year has to offer.

EDGE 01-25-2006 12:02 PM

:) soddy.

adidasss 01-25-2006 12:05 PM

too bad, i can't answer.....and you simply wouldn't believe what i had to say, it would have completely changed your life.......

oh well.....

riseagainstrocks 01-25-2006 12:08 PM

i'm 17.

Stay away from people who only act nice to you when you have something new (video game, car, money). They aren't really your friend. This came from personal experiance.

half_baked87 01-25-2006 12:15 PM

^word.

never let anyone comprimise your beleifs through fear, doubt and assimilation, because in essence, your beleifs are the one thing you can never lose.

Shooting Star 01-25-2006 12:15 PM

I would tell people not to worry about anything if I had to offer them advice. Life's too short for worrying and it's meaningless because we all die in the end anyway. I came across this advice through introspection.

Muzak 01-25-2006 02:21 PM

Don't do drugs.

Barnard17 01-25-2006 02:28 PM

Live your life the way you want to, rather than the way you think others want you to.

I arrived at this because it amazes me how much people nowadays fuss over the opinions of others. On a level of course that's natural, but people take it too far in the modern climate.

mosesandtherubberducky 01-25-2006 03:46 PM

moses is 15,

Don't back down to people just because they may be bigger or stronger. Stand your ground and speak your mind.

I learned this from personal experience. Most people that try to push you around (I'm not the biggest person) are just trying to prove that they are better than you. And to them words hurt more than fists.

Merkaba 01-25-2006 04:41 PM

Go with the flow.

Stand tall, be staunch, but welcoming and respectful all the same.

jibber 01-25-2006 08:54 PM

If there's one thing i've learned, it's this:

no matter how long you live, no matter how much you see, or how much you experience, you'll never come close to knowing it all. You'll never come close to being able to undertand everything, and in the end, all that matter's is that you've soaked up as much as humanly possible in the short time we're given.

I guess I figured this out from talking to people my age, and people 5, 10, 20 years older than me, and realizing that few of them are any closer to figuring out what's going on than I am, which just makes life all the more exciting.
(oh right, i'm 19)

Do not live a life of fear just because of maybe one or two incidents

Enjoy Life to the fullest

look out for your friends no matter what, they're more important than anything.

grandpas aren't allowed to share their wisdom, look at the first post, 15-20 years old.....or do you feel 15?

'The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts'

(i do philosophy). This I think is very vital to living a happy life. My mum has suffered from severe depression for the last 6 years and I've seen what the 'wrong' type of thoughts can do to a person, not just her but the people around me. So yes i think this piece of advice is important.

never mix dry gin and the telephone. you end up calling someone halfway across the world in Guernsey and singing to them. you might also embarrasse yourself during the call and not remember it until he brings it up the next day.

"Learn from others mistakes and achievements."

TrampInaTux 01-28-2006 01:54 AM

Look both ways before crossing the road.

I developed this experience by realising that there are these things on the road called 'cars'. And these 'cars' can run you over. So by looking both ways, you know that there are no 'cars' in the area to knock you down.
