Um...
A shirt
A Pullover
A Hoodie
Sims 3 for Mac
Madden 2011 for Wii
Life by Keith Richards

A gentleman's Irish cap (awesome)
A remote control helicopter
I think that's it.

I got a little bit more than expected this year. My dad got me a sweet Citizen solar watch that looks awesome and actually already fits to my wrist. Whenever I get a watch that uses links instead of a strap, it is always far too big on my wrists and would come up to my hand, so not having to go get a link or two knocked out is pretty cool.

My dad also got me a new pair of sunglasses that look pretty decent on me and are just expensive enough for me to actually want to take proper care of them. My dad also regifted a few Futureshop coupons to me giving me $50 credit in the store, plus a buddy of mine is working at one tomorrow so I asked him to hold a copy of the new Call of Duty game for me so I don't have to fight the masses to grab one.

Perhaps my most unique gift is a music journal that helps you keep track of your music in a non-digital way. I figure I'll probably end up filling two or three of them in 2011 but I'm going to try and utilize it to its full potentially, perhaps it may help me remember more about the albums I grab.

Oh I also got some money which I am using to help get me out of some debt and get me off to a positive start in the next year that will hopefully see some savings beginning to amount.

noise 12-26-2010 12:09 AM

Dayvan Cowboy 12-26-2010 06:18 AM

I admit that I'm not the best kid or the most polite kid in the world (I'm angsty, lolhormonal and violent) but I feel like as a whole, I got WAYYY more than I deserved. that stuff includes:
  • a guitar
  • lots of fancy notebooks and gel pens to accompany them
  • A Cell Phone (my first cell phone, too!)
  • a shortwave radio
  • a big book about physics
  • a truckload of blurays (love me some 1080p)
  • Autechre and BOC CDs

And enough candy to give a horse diabetes.

DoctorSoft 12-26-2010 06:23 AM

I got:

-A 4-track recorder
-Arcade Fire's Neon Bible and Neil Young's Harvest
-2 flannel shirts and a hoody
-guitar srings and picks
and,
a case of the stomach flu :(

s_k 12-26-2010 11:10 AM

Sorry to hear about the stomach flu.

But please tell me about the 4-track recorder :)

Flyingpig437 12-26-2010 11:14 AM

£100 which i'm going to spend on Windows 7

s_k 12-26-2010 11:17 AM

Don't bother when your PC has some older hardware. It's often pretty ****ty to get the right drivers. And make sure you at least have 2gigs of RAM. You'll be needing that.
I run windows 7 pro and ultimate here. Didn't really pay for it, sorry.
I mean, it's not like I would if I had to. In that case I'd just install Ubuntu ;).
I bought five XP Licences and two 2000 licenses throughout the years. I always buy microsoft input devices and I have bought quite some microsoft games. I think they've made enough money out of me by now.

Eitherway, Windows 7 runs good. I put the taskbar back to normal, quick launch included. The Image viewer sucks (you can't delete or rotate fullscreen) and auto arrange of icons in folders is really annoying (renaming files makes them move around all the time). But apart from that, it's fast (faster than Vista), stable and the search function is utterly brilliant.

storymilo 12-26-2010 01:27 PM

I got a variety of great cds, dvds and books, as well as some nice shirts and a sweater and a great pair of earphones. and a ****load of candy <33333 Christmas.

ohohoh and WoW: Cataclysm and The Longest Journey.

It's a Tascam Pocketstudio DP-004 portable recorder. I have no idea how to use it yet, because I've been too sick to do anything and I don't know anything about this type of thing. It probably won't be anything amazing, but it would be really nice to use to get some ideas down :) .

James 12-26-2010 02:27 PM

That was before I had done any organizing. It looks much less cluttered now. I mainly ran everything through the other side of the case, but I did use a couple zipties.

s_k 12-27-2010 05:19 PM

Pics or it didn't happen :D.

I'm jealous...I wish I had the money to build my own computer. It's so satisfying knowing every component was hand picked by me.

Man, now I miss living in Asia. The electronics are first rate and dirt cheap...I built a computer that would have cost me $2500 here in the US for about $1000 a few years ago. Actually, a long while ago...that thing is a piece of **** now, but when I first built it it tore ass around every other computer.

Dr_Rez 12-27-2010 07:54 PM

Thats the prob with building or buying a pimp arse computer. It will always suck in 5 years. Or less?

Yeah it is. It's cool to be able to tell people I built it. Where in Asia did you live?

Well, I'm actually not that intensive of a gamer so a big reason why I invested in high-end components for my computer was so that I could easily upgrade what becomes outdated. I'm hoping to keep my baby around for at least 5 years.

Singapore. We had a 10 story mall dedicated to nothing but a surplus of top of the line computer parts. It was a tech nerd's heaven. Bargaining down was also not only easy but expected. That's probably the most frustrating part of shopping for expensive stuff in the US...the price you see is the price you pay.

johnnybellion 12-28-2010 11:25 PM

I just got some shirts and a random gift card for Christmas. My parents had no money to buy anything before Christmas. So I am still waiting.
