Summer

So, I can't wait for it to be the summer :]
It's too cold in England at the moment.
And Summer's kinda soon...Kinda.
I have my exams before the holidays, but it means i get a longer one.!
What's everyone up to in the Summer/Summer holidays?

[Haha. The recess movie's on atm. weak.]

MURDER JUNKIE 03-04-2006 04:52 AM

Drinking BEER!!!! (outside)

blackTshirt 03-04-2006 05:51 AM

i can't wait for it to be sunnier and all that
i like chilly weather and yeaaaaaaaah some holidays would be cool

ArtistInTheAmbulance 03-04-2006 05:56 AM

Im a summer scrooge.
Its too hot.
And I only get tanned for like, 5% of the time.
The rest Im just burned.
And beaches suck.

¬.¬

blackTshirt 03-04-2006 05:57 AM

i hate super heat
but i don't like this depressing **** when you wake up in the morning and it's like ****in night

ArtistInTheAmbulance 03-04-2006 05:59 AM

Ah we're past that over here now. I prefer it when its dark in the mornings. . . I have to walk into my bus stop at like, 20 to 7 in the morning, and I hate it being so bright. Not a pleasant wake up call. . . And, everyone can see the bags under your eyes when its super bright in the mornings. Theres always that.

holdyoualways 03-04-2006 07:38 AM

the summer is great. i never ever get tan, always burned. but id rather be super hot then super cold, which it is right now. im probably gonna be going on vacation sometime. & i wanna do SOMETHING fun instead of sitting on my butt all summer long. maybe dorney...

explosions-in-my-pants 03-04-2006 09:29 AM

i don't like summer.. its way to hot.. i'd rather it be chilly or cold.. but hot sucks.. but i do like swimming.. and dressing in my cute summer outfits.. but i hate the heat..

i tan sometimes really nice.. i never burn.. :D.. thats the only thing good about summer

Mama Booze 03-04-2006 10:37 AM

Waking up/going to bed when I feel like it.
PARTYS!!!!! :]]]
It'll be fun.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-04-2006 10:43 AM

I hate summer , I hate having to spend 4 months of the year pretending I give a sh*t about cricket or tennis.

Thank God for the World Cup this year

MURDER JUNKIE 03-04-2006 10:47 AM

I'm pumped about the Cup!!! I love the footy but , the coverage in Canuckistan makes it impossible to follow Premier League. I am an Arsenal fan

We just had our summer. All 3 weeks of it.
I love summer, it's so good to just be able to do things outside without having to wear thermals. It's my happy season. I love the beach.

Scarlett O'Hara 03-04-2006 07:37 PM

I love summer, and here where I am, we've had a months worth and now it's no not autum, but winter weather! It happened last year too, I hate this city for it.

It's not just where you are.......It's pretty pud here as well.

Imonlydancing 03-05-2006 04:41 AM

Ack, I don't get why people don't like summer, but fair enough :]
I'm specially looking forward to this summer because of 8 weeks off school.
I like the spring weather more. I hate being overoverover hot. It's weak.
If it was slightly warm here all the time, then meh.

In general, the English climate is quite like that of the north west, such as Seattle and Vancouver, so you could check the seasons there to get an idea.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-05-2006 07:37 AM

I was told it was going to be freezing all weekend and snow here (Which is rare in Guernsey, it only happens once every few years when it`s really cold).

There isn`t a cloud in the sky & i`m in a t shirt.

Looks like we got it then.
-2 this morning (-7 yesterday morning) and 6 degrees C at the moment.
*switches an extra bar on the electric fire*
Not cold by world standards, but enough for me to wish for long hot summer days. :)

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-05-2006 08:10 AM

It was -5 2 days ago , now it`s 12

Imonlydancing 03-05-2006 11:14 AM

It's freezing where i am.
Proper cold.
I keep wearing my coat indoors.

so, there's been quite a huge change of plans for my summer. The original plan was to go to new zealand for four months, and then come back for school end of august. I'm excited about the program i'm planning on doing, but the thing is, i'm not ready to do it yet. when i go to school, i want it to be at a time when I'm going to be 100% focused on school, and right now, there's other things i'd rather be doing, like traveling. so, instead of four months, i'm extending it to a full year. One year of living and working in new zealand. wow. i'm excited, i'm happy, i'm sure this is what I want to do, i'm relieved that i've decided for sure (after months of debating if I should or not), and i'm also scared sh*tless. i've never been away from home for more than a week. and that was with a group of good friends. this time around, i'm going off on my own and building an entirely new life for a year. i know it's the experience of a lifetime, and i know i'm unbelievably lucky to have a chance to do something like this. mainly i'm excited for the year to come, but at the same time, wow. a whole year away from my family, away from my friends, my home, my life. every single constant foundation that I have is going to be on the other end of the planet for an entire year. of course i'm not going to be completely on my own, if I ever need to, I only have to make one phone call and my parents would bring me home without question, but I hope to god I wont have to do that. I can't wait to test out how well i'll be able to handle living on my own, thousands of miles away from any type of security I have right now. so yeah, right now i'm about 90% excited as hell, and 10% scared sh*tless.

Merkaba 03-06-2006 12:59 AM

I've found in all the times I've changed locations that homesickness doesn't really kick in until xmas

haha, yeah, my parents are apparently gonna fly me home for xmas or come down and spend it with me. my mom is definitely more freaked out than she's letting on, but luckily she realizes she can't do anything about it so she's being completely supportive. my dad should be fine when he finds out, plus he might be doing business down there so he'd be able to visit me, which would be good.
