Go to My Computer

Right click Local Disk (C:)

Click Format...

Then click start. This will wipe everything out of your main partition but keep windows components.

problem.

message coming up - windows can not format this drive. quit any disc utilities or other programs that are using this drive, and make sure that no window is displaying the content of this drive. then try formatting again.

mosesandtherubberducky 04-19-2006 04:23 PM

hmmm

Go into taskmanager and stop everything in the task manager (including your web browser) and then try again

littleknowitall 04-19-2006 04:28 PM

K, (I have a program that lets me re-format partitions and make them and all so I don't have to deal with this) turn your computer off, on the boot screen it should say Dell or Compact (depending on what kind you have) press F2 (I think) and you should be able to reformat in there if not wait till ArmyofMe starts talking

littleknowitall 04-19-2006 04:38 PM

im not sure what you mean by this but ill turn my pc off and on and lets hope something jumps out at me. *holds breath*
