Mind you it is beta.

Sound Devastation 05-14-2006 11:28 AM

what features does it have over #10?

cardboard adolescent 05-14-2006 11:36 AM

mp4 support? Please tell me it has mp4 support.

Muzak 05-14-2006 11:37 AM

I havn't seen much yet but for the most part it has an easier interface and the original features are tweaked up so they are better.

I cant say it does. It does a wierd automatic media search to add things to your library and I hasn't got any of my mp4 music.

Sound Devastation 05-14-2006 11:42 AM

mp4 support would piss me off... i like having all my music in the same format, at the moment WMP can remind me when things need converting :P

sounds good though.

What i really need for my mp3 collection is an external hard drive. almost half my computer is taken up by music at the mo, and thats not including any i own on CD :S

under 05-14-2006 12:00 PM

I will download it only because I have a crappy version of Windows Media Player(Windows Media Player 7) LOL

tdoc210 05-14-2006 01:29 PM

^errm you probably cant. seeing as you have 7, it would have automatically asked you to update to 10 if you had a supporting OS, whats your OS?

Sound Devastation 05-14-2006 01:41 PM

downloading new versions doesnt mess up the library does it? i cant remember last time i did it..

tdoc210 05-14-2006 01:52 PM

^it shouldnt

mosesandtherubberducky 05-14-2006 03:57 PM

Get winamp, it's better

cardboard adolescent 05-14-2006 04:17 PM

Not really.

Having used both, I prefer WMP.

cardboard adolescent 09-17-2006 07:47 PM

I just downgraded. 11 is a complete piece of shit. Don't waste your time with it.

Sound Devastation 09-18-2006 07:22 AM

i downgraded a day after i got WMP11.

MoonlitSunshine 09-18-2006 11:39 AM

haha, I guess I'm lucky I read the rest of the thread before going to upload it!

_Spinning_ 09-18-2006 05:57 PM

I've had it for sometime now and it blows just as much as the older versions.

WinAmp is far far far superior to Windows Media Player in regards to almost everything.

And if W.M.P has something WinAmp doesn't, I'm sure you could find a plug-in for Winamp to make it possible.

cardboard adolescent 09-18-2006 05:58 PM

Such as a good interface, better playlist functionality, and better file management/tagging?

_Spinning_ 09-18-2006 06:00 PM

Yes.

cardboard adolescent 09-18-2006 06:02 PM

So why bother with plug-ins when WMP already has it to start with?

_Spinning_ 09-18-2006 06:06 PM

Because WinAmp is a generally better program.
Especially next to WMP11 which is so unstable it's laughable.

And, there are a lot of "Anti-Windows/Microsoft" people out there...so this is a happy alternative.

cardboard adolescent 09-18-2006 07:25 PM

I didn't find WMP11 unstable, just incredibly buggy and I found that they had completely bastardized the navigation to the point where it was just cumbersome.

But saying **** Microsoft and unsupported claims are a fine way of building an argument.

tdoc210 09-23-2006 06:37 PM

wmp 11 works fine to my high standards

Muzak 09-23-2006 06:55 PM

It was interesting enough to keep me using it over iTunes (back when I made this thread). Now I'm back to iTunes, its just a better interface.

tdoc210 09-23-2006 07:02 PM

itunes takes up processing power

Muzak 09-23-2006 07:07 PM

27,000k for me. Azurus is like 42,000k and firefox is like 81,000k.
