Another stats thing but not for a project
I downloaded minitab 14 and I wanna play around with it and see if some stuff follows a normal density curve so. If you could please go to www.typingtest.com take a one minute test and tell me your net typing speed (for the test do it on the first topic). And then post your score here. I'm bored and wanna play around with minitab so help make me un-bored.

Yeah...some of them had like...3 syllables.
98% accuracy though. :D |
71 wpm. My mum was a typist... it's genetic...
|
36 WPM. I suck at copying out stuff. I can type really fast if I'm just making it up as I go along.

Fucking stupid system and I swear some are missing. |
I taught myself to touch type one afternoon when I was about 18. Sat and typed out the alphabet ten times, then did something else. When I'd finished that I went and typed out the alphabet ten times again and then went and did something else again. I went back to the computer maybe ten times and typed out the alphabet a total of maybe a hundred times and after that I've never really needed to look at the keyboard while typing. It was the same way I used to learn piano pieces for concerts, play a few times, rest, then come back and each time you'll improve.
Try it, Right-Track. |
Sounds like a plan. ^
I will try it and I'll post back any progress. :) You did that in just one afternoon? |
Yes I did. I was learning some crazy arpeggiated piece by Liszt around that time too, so touch-typing was a doddle by comparison.

...46 wpm. :D *is elated* |

Right-Track + increased typing speed = danger. Well, anyway, I just noticed an ommission in my previous post. All of the alphabets I typed without looking at the keyboard and I was typing them as fast as possible until I made a mistake (following the computer screen to check for mistakes). If you make the whole process of typing completely kinetic and force yourself to type without the visual cue of looking at the keyboard and learn where the keys are by touch, then it very soon becomes instinctive. |
38 wpm. i must be retarded:(
