trying to belong=====wearing make-up

Mama Booze 01-06-2007 07:54 AM

Everyone giving us heat about wearing make-up and then saying we're trying to belong.
Isn't that kind of a huge contradiction?

Totally.

It's our right to wear it and I just DON'T CARE what you think tdoc.

Mama Booze 01-06-2007 12:20 PM

Exactly. Rocks off to us.

tdoc210 01-06-2007 03:17 PM

k thats nice, great job on attracting slkeazy men , who will only want you for one night, well obviousley its your choice, and i know you dont care what i think..but, really.

Trauma 01-06-2007 03:39 PM

It's not exactly as TDOC says, just because you wear makeup doesn't make you a whore.
But, it does mean you're trying to fit in, women that wear makeup are almost molding to a social conformity I think; same as shaving your legs or learning how to get pregnant.

tdoc210 01-06-2007 04:16 PM

i know a girl who doesnt shave her arm pits, and she is still one of the prettiest girls i have ever seen, so dont say that it makes you gross if you dont shave,

People that fit in will complain later. 'Why do I never get attention?' Because you never stood out. You should welcome those little imprefections, they're you, what makes you, you. And no one can duplicate them or take them away. Don't try to cover them up, coz they'll get seen eventually. But the person that approaches you in spite of those imperfections is the person that will let those imperfections fade.
Make up doesn't make a person good looking. People make a person good looking.

Wear them!

But yeah, I agree with that.
You really don't need make-up to create your individuality.

Mama Booze 01-06-2007 08:14 PM

This is rediculous. Make-up is like clothes. Do you wear clothes because you want to fit in? Well, certain clothes. Hence styles. There are also styles of make-up. Let people do what they want for ****s sake, what's the big ****ing deal? If it makes us feel good, what the hell? To each their own.

yeah, even i have to disagree with you there, and i'm pretty damn low maintnence, and even I wear makeup most days. The VAST majority of girls wear at least some makeup, and n, they dont do it to fit in, they do it because they like the way they look better with it on. Do you do your hair in the morning? or change out of your pyjamas? i'm thinking you do, and i'm guessing its because you take a certain amount of pride in your appearance, and like to feel that you look good. same thing with girls and makeup man, some girls just put more emphasis on it.

sleepy jack 01-06-2007 08:19 PM

Shaving your legs is a must, and not just for girls. Body hair in general is disgusting.

Mama Booze 01-06-2007 08:22 PM

^Dunno if you're being funny or not but generally I agree with you. I have a phobia, I can't stand hair anywhere but my head.

sleepy jack 01-06-2007 08:23 PM

I'm not, body hair grosses me out.

jibber 01-06-2007 08:23 PM

^ i'd actually prefer if a guy didnt shave his legs....doesnt seem right so me. but having said that, i really dont care all that much either way, i dated a guy once who shaved his legs, but that was more because the shin pads he wore for mountain biking pulled at the hairs on his legs and apparently hurt like a motherf*cker

well i guess I'm wierd. i've met few girls that actually likes body hair on guys. it empahsizes their masculinity i think.

And I think the reason girls (and some guys) wear make up is because it kinda makes them feel sexy.
Every girl to some extent wants to feel pretty or a little extra attractive on occasion.

I guess it's like wanting to put on a different look from time to time. I usually wear make up because one of my previous stepmoms was a cosemtologist and she always looked pretty and i always wanted to look pretty like she did. So it's something of a habit.

Althought he few guys I know that wear make up on a regular basis wear mostly to piss off other people.

No... I don't sleep around? I'm actually the least easy of my friends.

And about wearing make-up to fit in... none of my friends wear the same make-up as me, we don't all wear red lipstick just to be cool. You seem to take make-up MUCH more seriously than me.

Lola lipstick, anyone? <3

Mama Booze 01-07-2007 09:39 AM

Red lipstick, for the win! I always get comments, deragotory and not, for my red lips. I wear it regardless because IIII like it.

Mama Booze 01-07-2007 12:23 PM

Oh honey I curse all the time.

skindredluver 01-07-2007 12:24 PM

Werid.......Anyway on subject wht kind of make up do you recamend?

Mama Booze 01-07-2007 12:25 PM

Bruise and I will both tell you dark eyes and red lipstick is the way to go haha.

skindredluver 01-07-2007 12:27 PM

Nice.Like i said earlier is that all i really wear is shimmer powder and eye liner. Is there a good brand thats not to expensive?

Mama Booze 01-07-2007 12:29 PM

Of eyeliner? Yeah. Maybeline I guess is really good over here in the states. Or NY-brand. :]

My lipstick is NARS and it's expensive lol, $26 dollars over here in a make-up shop in Stuyvesant Plaza called Circles, AWESOME shop by the way... but other good lipstick brands are like I said Maybeline and NY... maybe covergirl, not sure... But red, for the win. And you're blonde, aren't you? Red on blondes looks real nice. Specially if you have shorter, curly hair.

skindredluver 01-07-2007 12:30 PM

My hair is wavy not curly but thanks for the tips!

Mama Booze 01-07-2007 12:33 PM

Wavy blonde and short looks fab with red as well, VERY 1930's. Hot.

Anytime :) I enjoy giving cosmetic advice hehe.

Merkaba 01-07-2007 01:53 PM

I think you're going to look really worn out by the time you're say 26, booze. Not in a mean way, but you sound like you chew through the imitation faces on a daily basis. Can't be that good for the skin can it?

Mama Booze 01-07-2007 03:16 PM

It's not, you're right, but I use a moisterizer so it lessens the effect. Meh, have fun while you're young right? lol

Emerald 01-07-2007 03:28 PM

I usually wear a gold/brown shimmer shadow on my eyelids, with darker gold/brown to darken my eye sockets, white shimmer below my eyebrows to highlight, and blackest black eyeliner above my lashes, flicking out towards the end - have done this for years now!

Usually use moisturiser and some powder on the rest of my face. In the summer only moisturiser because I go tanning and try and get out in the sun as much as I can!

Generally only use Maybelline or Bourjois on my eyes, and Virgin one step face base powder.

I worry about this constantly, but when I think about it I don't wear heavy foundation, only light powder, and I don't have heavy eye make-up on every day so I hope I will be OK???

I'm more worried about my hair :( I don't eat good vitamins and its getting thin, I have to get hair extensions to thicken it NOT FAIR.

tdoc210 01-07-2007 04:04 PM

.. tanning = ok in moderation.. in teh natural light,
though i dont tan
i bleach

bruise_violet 01-07-2007 04:15 PM

Ewww I would hate to have a tan, I think I'd look retarded. I would never ever get a fake tan, and naturally I just burn. God wanted me to look like a zombie.

[MERIT] 01-07-2007 04:21 PM

screw tanning. its all pink on the inside.

Mama Booze 01-07-2007 04:21 PM

That's the spirit. I personally think that when people go out with the intention of getting a tan it's just as stupid as when people do skin bleaching. Naturally dark skin is hot, skin which has been tanned to the same shade is not... as it usually has a funny bronzy hue to it.

I wanted to bleach my skin haha even though I'm quite ghostly :(

Merkaba 01-07-2007 04:46 PM

Tan is awesome, none of that sunbed crap though. Seriously, being tanned just from everyday activities in the sun looks far better than having something in common with Michael Jackson. Or you know, Dracula.

It doesn't have to be a full on bloodshot face like the guy oojay posted, but a light brown is really awesome.
