^I'm not even mad about being insulted for my "bad" taste in music anymore. But I'm pissed because their assuming because the bands I like suck, I suck as a musician. I'm damn good as a musician. Vocal, cello and keyboard, in that fucking order according to experience. Classically trained in vocal bitches.

being in a choir or orchestra does not validate your talent or taste in music. any half-assed douchebag can join a public school choir. we had special ed kids in the choir at my high school so i KNOW you had no trouble getting into one.

At my high school there were three choirs. First is open to anyone, second is audition only and third is invitation only, a 15 person choir, in top five groups in the state. If you read above, I was in the top choir for three years out of four(in which one year I was not in any choir at all) and have been somewhat classically trained for state competitions as a soloist. Same with orchestra, three groups. I was only in the second group playing cello because I honestly dont like it too much. And then there is music theory. I know my shit. Im not saying I was in just any high school choir and I'm the shit. I'm just not a musical retard, and I dont appreciate being threated as such. Unfortunately I cannot persue more in college because I only have the finances for gen. ed. and major classes for journalism. Sucks for me.

IMO you cant get technically good without any training. Look at many of the art rock musicians of the 60s and 70s. They all had schooling and even classical training. Yes was amazing because all their guys were proficiently trained at their instruments.

I was in jazz band in middle school. Musically, I might be the next Bach. Duh.

But according to that Harvard test and my world-class musical ablility grade, I should be... :[.

The closest thing i've had to training, is reading the how to read tab thing off MX and I am very good. So your opinion is wrong.
