Me, myself and my awesome I

5 Attachment(s)
That's me infront of the London Adidas Originals store. I wanted to go to one of those for such a long time, ended up buying nothing, but my sister ( the one in the photo before the last ), bought an awesome adidas bag that I shall be seen wearing a little later.

St. James's Park and infront of the Buckingham Palace

4 Attachment(s)
St. James's Park is by far the prettiest of the London parks I've seen, so tranquill and beautiful in a very english aristocratic way. The third picture is me and my oldest sister trying to warm up, the sun had finally decided to show up...1 hour later , it would be raining and blowing like it's the freakin' arctic.

What...have you got...on your head?

riseagainstrocks 01-05-2007 01:18 PM

Just too bad that that Megastore is chalk full of garbage.

The London Subway

3 Attachment(s)
The London Subway is undoubtedly the best organised transportation system in the world, I've never seen anything so efficient and user friendly. You simply cannot get lost. Plus, it's fast and gives you a feeling that London is just a wee town, not a huge megalopolis with 7 million people.

The London Eye

Some random shots from the London Eye, formerly known as The Millenium Wheel :giggle: Say, I was looking for The Millenium Dome :doublegiggle: and couldn't find it anywhere, where was it? Is it still arround?

The London Dungeon

Overpriced, too long and certainly not worth the money, but some shots look really cool and realistic with the flash working, normally it's all dark. I don't like interactive shows, I got picked out of the crowd 3 out of 5 times by the actors to help them with some shizz, I thought I would die right then and there. I guess I'm rather tall and conspicuous ( although when an actor pointed at me and said " You, the man with the beard " I did look back to see who he was reffering to....beard? What beard?!

blackTshirt 01-05-2007 01:46 PM

i've been to the virgin stores in paris and vienna and this certainly looks veeeeeeeeeery familiar
:D glad you had a great time, my eastern european buddy-bud

The nightmare of new years

4 Attachment(s)
For new years eve, we had the bright idea of going downtown London to see the fireworks arround 11pm. The Embankment station was closed due to it being overcrowded. We got off at Charing Cross, along with about 5 thousand other people, it took about 20 minutes to get out of the station. It was horrible, but that was only the start. As soon as we got out and got some fresh air, we were met by half a million crazy drunked idiots, all trying to see the fireworks. We ended up spending new year's eve in some alley next to the Thames, with no view of the fireworks, and no clue how to get of out the crowd. The police were very helpful , God bless them.

Nice pictures!

Covent Garden

4 Attachment(s)
Covent Garden is full of quaint little pubs, the first picture is a nice little ferris wheel , I thought the pic turned out really well, sorta vintage. The second one is dedicated to "Fools and horses" fans. The third and fourth is a bar, pub or whatchyamightcall it where we ate ( damn the brits for not allowing smoking in restaurants ) and almost got sloshed on a pint of beer. :yeah:

bruise_violet 01-05-2007 02:29 PM

I just realised how good your sig was.

Sister Ray and Kensington Gardens

4 Attachment(s)
Sister Ray is supposed to be one of the best indie record stores in London. It's a lot dirtier than the Virgin M. and HMV, but it also adds to the general, uber trendy vibe of it. I'm positive they have loads of shit, but we only searched for Tigercity ( which they didn't have because apparently the bastard band only sells records via their own site ) and some DVD my sister was looking for that they didn't have in V.M. I would have spent some more money there but me oldest sis was wise and didn't give us much of it....( the bitch ;)).

We went to Kensington Gardens ( the south end ) after Harrods, but it started to rain ( shocker! ) so we had to cut it short. We did manage to run into this guy. That's Daniel Mays, for those unfaniliar with the british cinema, he stars in some of my favourite films, Mike Leigh's "All or nothing" and "Vera Drake".
Of course, we were too polite to bother him for a picture.

P.s. Notice the awesomness of the adidas bag I'm wearing in Sister Ray that we purchased in the Originals store...;)

Harrods ( oh the tackyness! )

4 Attachment(s)
Harrods was fairly dissapointing, for the worlds most famous department store, I was expecting something much more exclusive and posh. The first two floors are rather tacky, Mohamed Al-Fayed had them decorated in the most unappropriate egyptian style ( note the sphinxs )( he's egyptian btw  ) which is a shame because it was probably once a very nice english department store. To top off the tawdriness, he put a wax figure of himself in the middle of it. Freaky.

Good old Nags Head! Hey adidasss you should have had a second pint, it sort of evens things out after the first (honestly;)).

The day before last in London ( New Year's Parade )

2 Attachment(s)
This was after the catastrophy of new year's eve, we were walking arround the ville fairly aimlessly, and after visiting the Buckingham Palace, stumbled upon one of the greatest things ever, marching bands as a part of the New Years parade. We had absolutely no idea this was supposed to happen so we missed most of it, but you should have seen my face when the american marching bands started doing their thing, I swear to God, me and me sis were on the brink of tears from happyness. When the drums kicked in and the perfectly synchronised trumpets started played with the awesomest of choreographies....I was the happiest man on the planet and the horror of the night past was gone. Incredible ending to a wonderful trip.

Hope you enjoyed the pics....;)

Haha, that's alright, it was a part of the experience, England just wouldn't have been England without it.

Glad you enjoyed yourself over here mate!! Next time you should let some of the London-forum folk where you're going in London, and perhaps they'll go for a drink with you :)

I wanted to hug them all for being so awesome and giving it their best, show them their hard work was very much appreciated. Those were just highschool kids, and I imagine it takes a helluva lot of tenacity to endure the entire parade. Bravo for them.
