Well, fantasy books are often banned because the concept of magic gives people other than God Godlike powers, so it undermines the Christian ideal that no one can come close to what God is capable of. Kind of like when the serpent told Adam and Eve that God didn't want them to eat the apple because they'd be all-knowing like God.
