New trend?

Anyone else noticing a pattern of old newcomers, now repeatedly flaming newer members lately?
Or does musicbanter even enforce it's own rules anymore?
I'm remembering why I took a hiatus from this forum.
Seriously, it makes the place about as entertaining as Oprah.
If certain members have nothing better to do than strike others as inferior, they should be reprimended.

:soapbox:

Either that, or new mods.

Loser 02-23-2007 02:49 PM

Mods and admins have enough problems on their plates right now, but yeah I sort of agree.

Says the person who's made what? 300 Posts? What old members have come back, Oojay? He's been seeming fine.

sleepy jack 02-23-2007 02:52 PM

People need to start reporting flaming, and repeated flaming. You can't expect us to read every single post and remember which user flamed who last week and that they're doing it against this week. We can't be everywhere.

I havn't notice older members flaming new members either.

[MERIT] 02-23-2007 02:53 PM

Not a new trend, but you're right. You've got to take the good with the bad, it's just an internet forum:rolleyes:

The Unfan 02-23-2007 02:54 PM

STFU n00b!

Seriously though I've not seen this problem. Point it out to me?

Edit: I ironically have the lowest post count of people in this thread.

LOL. Reporting flaming got me a "warning" on my profile and I got 1 point deducted (from what I have no idea).

there is no damn favoritism shown to senior members. I don't know what the hell you're on about.

Ace 02-23-2007 02:55 PM

So instead of offering constructive criticism, half the mods and half the members flame the new guy in the song writing forum.
Plus, I thought Sonnet joined up around or a little before I did, and now
he/she must feel the need to act the norm.
And I can clearly remember them being picked on a few times in the past.
I'm sure he/she will give me a few sarcastic responses, but oh well. ^_^

Just give it a rest, the elitism here is blatant and apparent and not gonna change anytime some. Just say f*ck it and take a nap. That's what I do.

No using the report a post feature as your own personal shoutbox got you a warning.

Ace 02-23-2007 03:01 PM

Apparently, oojay.
Atleast it's not as bad as that bungalow bitch was, anyway.

And trust me, I've learned my lesson:rolleyes: You were just in a pissy mood.

Blain 02-23-2007 03:02 PM

APS Has always been posting, Ace. He has always been a smartass, and that's how we like him. We all just don't see the need to post anything about this, seeing as it's a load of sh*t.

Yeah, it was just my pissy mood. Which is why the other mods agreed with that warn.

Also Ace, the songwriting regulars tend to get pist off at users if their criticism gets immediately slapped in their face.

Loser 02-23-2007 03:03 PM

I think we should close this thread down now.

<-------Line to (insert witty phrase) starts here.

Ace 02-23-2007 03:05 PM

^Likewise.(loser) I still think completely blowing the guy off is a good way to kill off new members.
Blainka, it seems you have grown a smaller set since we last talked.
Srsly lolz, u a funnnnnnny lil man.

If you mean Dark Circle I didn`t see any flaming , I just saw people giving him opinions on his songs & criticising his self delusion. If the guy wants to act all high & mighty because someone dared criticise his work then thats up to him.

I`ve posted opinions on music that have had virtually the whole forum give me a hard time over , I just ignore any abuse and answer questions put to me , i`ve never felt the need to go running to the mods about it.

Blain 02-23-2007 03:07 PM

Ace, it just seems extremely stupid that you havn't been here in about 3 months and you randomly come back and complain people are flaming too much. The flaming is what makes MB appealing, and alot of fun.

Yo Ethan, close please?

There isn't that much flaming on MB, it seems like people don't even know what it is.

Not flaming: I don't like this band/song/whatever its bland/terrible/whatever.

Flaming: This is fucking shit you bitch.
