what does Donald Trump, Hitler, ISIS (except for like two guys but they mean well, top guys), and OJ Simpson have in common? they all prefer crunchy.

i'm not saying that ridding the world of crunchy peanut butter would give us a paradise on earth. but i guarantee you it would fix a lot.

Agree Q-Man, if I want crunchy I'll eat a packet of peanuts thanks.

US nuclear submarine engineer and his wife are charged with passing secrets to a foreign government hidden in PEANUT BUTTER sandwiches

So... crunchy or smooth?

rubber soul 10-11-2021 05:51 AM

That depends, Peter Pan or Jif?

Lisnaholic 10-11-2021 06:24 AM

In a proper English kitchen, the butter is stored in one place and the peanuts in another. What kind of new-fangled American travesty is it to put the two together?!

"Sez here "Butter with peanuts in it" Well, that's just not natural! Sorry, m'am, but there's no way I'm having that in my kitchen!"

bob_32_116 10-11-2021 10:04 AM

Crunchy. Life's too short for smooth peanut butter.

A few years ago there was a news item about fly-in-fly-out workers on a mining site threatening industrial action over the fact that the only peanut butter available in the firm's canteen was of the smooth variety.

I was shocked. What is the world coming to? People are so unreasonable. I can't believe they expected their employees to put up with smooth.

Take it from this Nazi POW: Peanut Butter is proof that god exists.

If you can get your hands on it, get yourself some Teddie's.

It's good peanut butter, but I must admit, the oil that always burps up to the top kinda grosses me out.

And crunchy is better in most situations, but not all.

That's a curious little corner of history, Big3 ! Alas, after 3 mins, I got tired of waiting for the audio to swing round to our topic. Still, I'm more than ready to admit that I did no research into where peanut butter originated from. :shycouch:

The Batlord 10-11-2021 04:27 PM

Peanuts I assume.

If oil isn't getting to the top, you're eating plastic.

The trick is to occasionally turn the jar upside down, allowing the oil to gradually seep to the bottom of the jar (which is now at the top). Of course eventually you have to turn the jar again, to once again distribute the oil throughout the mix, but the process is quite slow.

Norg 10-13-2021 05:44 PM

smooth my strawberry jam already has chunks of fruit no need for the peanut butter to be crunchy

It doesn't touch on the invention, but it does say that the POWs in Alabama were introduced to Peanut Butter while being used for farm labor.

Plankton 10-14-2021 08:10 AM

For the oil separation, I just jam a knife down in their and stir. It's the same with sour cream. Blending is key. It's all about the blend. Do you even blend bro?

I bet that came as quite a surprise to them!

I have to say that all this talk of burps and oil doesn't sound very enticing.

ftfy Plankton ;)

Plankton 10-14-2021 09:26 AM

lol

I can feel them hardening as we speak.

ribbons 10-14-2021 11:54 AM

Smooth for me please. :)

And for the record, I stir peanut butter with the butter knife I spread it with (but stir sour cream with the spoon I use to plop it with lol).

Plankton 10-14-2021 12:07 PM

You don't spread sour cream on your toast with a knife?

ribbons 10-14-2021 12:27 PM

You spread sour cream on toast? Really? Must be a Midwestern thing! I put dollops of sour cream on baked potatoes or chili or use it in certain recipes, but never on toast. I'll have to try it. Ya learn something new every day!

Plankton 10-14-2021 12:33 PM

Let me know how you lik...

I was kidding. I didn't feel like 'splainin it all.

:shycouch:

ribbons 10-14-2021 12:44 PM

How confused I was. But then I started Googling about sour cream on toast and its variations including herbs and cracked black pepper - and now I'm all excited about it. I really need to get a life. :o:

:shycouch:

Plankton 10-14-2021 12:56 PM

Really?

*frantic google search*

Hmmm... the sour cream with mushrooms and cumin sounds amazing.

Plankton 10-14-2021 01:10 PM

By all accounts and measures, if you are what you eat, I'm probably 80% mushroom. I'm a fungi.

Haha nice. I wonder how it tastes. lol

You can get most anything printed on discs these days. A few years back I had this made and it now resides on the wall of the pro shop at the Canyons Disc Golf course at Dellwood. Cost me fifty bucks. Oy!
