I'm pretty sure that right-track and jr. (not that he posts anymore) are quite ancient.

Larkrise 08-12-2007 09:46 PM

I can operate the computer, but only with home help.

joyboyo53 08-13-2007 01:52 PM

i think jackhammer is an old fart, or so he likes to point out. although i don't think he was born before 1970...

jackhammer 08-13-2007 01:52 PM

1970? you old fart! actually 1972 for me, so not far behind you.

Jgd 85-no I'm a spring chicken compared to jayjamjah!

I like to think that my tastes are not stuck in the 70's though!

joyboyo53 08-13-2007 02:07 PM

^ you speak the truth, the easiest example of this is your knowledge and liking of electronica music.

how old are you jayjamjah?

Son of JayJamJah 08-13-2007 11:16 PM

51 as of Midnight tonight.

1956 was a long time ago.

Thank you for pointing out on two threads that I am old and also that I choose a Republican candidate, which i did only because it sickens me to listen to the democrats of today. I came to the states when men like Richard Nixon, Jack Kennedy and Ronald Reagan made their mark and while each had their personal faults they were dedicated selfless men. In closing, once again screw you for calling me old!

The Truth Hurts...

jackhammer 08-14-2007 12:50 PM

Happy Birthday Grandad!

joyboyo53 08-14-2007 01:56 PM

happy birthday! hey man you got to see some really cool **** in your lifetime, so i wouldn't get to depressed. besides you still got a good days left in you, i mean 60 is the new 40. didn't you get the memo?

i get high sometimes 08-14-2007 03:21 PM

Richard Nixon, a self-less man? Ronald Reagan? I don't want turn this thread into political debate, so maybe we can take it elsewhere. But those were two horrible, greedy, corporate-pleasing, bastards.

joyboyo53 08-14-2007 03:35 PM

^^ once again, just trying to start an argument... don't read into what he is saying

i get high sometimes 08-14-2007 03:50 PM

Well, this is a forum with banter in its title, and this is the lounge. You needn't parade your defeat in every thread you go into.

Happy birthday...hey, you're old enough to be my daddy...http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...ower/randy.gif

Son of JayJamJah 08-14-2007 06:12 PM

I am only old here and at the bars we play in, I am young everywhere else so no worries.

As far as the political banter, it's easy to spot a staunch liberal or conservative from miles away. There is no talking sense into them, they see the world in a very black and white way mine is as I believe jgd said very much grey. While politics are a delightful topic, I keep my distance from such debates online, it never goes anywhere.

I will say with comfortably certainty...

If you don't know how unselfish men like Regan and Nixon were, you need to freshen up on history before the political revisionists got to it. Say what you will about their politics, they both gave of themselves and their time throughout their entire lives like few since have. They were good men with good intentions and that counts for something.

jackhammer 08-14-2007 07:41 PM

You have just said :--While politics are a delightful topic, I keep my distance from such debates online, it never goes anywhere.--

Then you go on to wax lyrical about Reagen etc. Leave politics at the wolf's door where it belongs.

Son of JayJamJah 08-14-2007 07:45 PM

I didn't say I don't bloviate about Politics just that i don't debate them...

Alas I agree with your recommendation the buck stops here.

jackhammer 08-14-2007 07:51 PM

Humility is a fantastic emotion. Enjoy the rest of your Birthday Jay. I think we are the two oldest on mb for what it's worth..

Old Fart

Since you are talking about old farts and politics, I'll add my 2cents worth.

I'm older than all of you. I'm 53. The problem I'm having with getting old is most of my friend HAVE become OLD FARTS. All they listen to is oldies. Don't they know there is still great music being made? I grew up a hippie in the 60s and now I've turned into an Eminem freak. He is as good, if not better, than 90% of the 60s and 70s singer-songwriters.

What political views does a REAL old hippie take these days? Well, Libertarian, what else? The Democrates and Republicans have BOTH lead us down the road to big brother. They both suck! I may be old but I am still screaming, "LEAVE US THE HELL ALONE !!!!" Whoes business is it who I sleep with or what I choose to smoke? Hell, because of the Democrates and Republcans, I can't even light up a regular cigarette in the park anymore. Screw all the laws these people make to keep me away from you. Not to meantion TAXES. I'm so tired of taking it up the #ss.

Enough of an old mans rant.
Peace,
Jim
