Need help
Had to reformat the hard drive this morning and get the thing up and running again.
All's well, *mouths* but I have no sound! :( The sound icon in the taskbar is missing. Good advice needed... |
My Computer>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices and look there?
|

It says no audio devices and all the options for tweaking are greyed out. |
Is it anyway similar to the problems I had a bit ago?
|
Re-install your sound card?
|
Digital Output Only Button?
I have to remember to click that on When using the amp, but when I take the computer to somebody's house I have to have it off or the sound just won't work. |

swim gave me an idea...I'm going to identify the soundcard issued with the pc and try and find a driver download off the net. |
Is there anywhere on the pc I can view the specifications?
|
Start>My Computer (right click)>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>right click on any hardware symol for properties drivers etc
|
It didn't do the trick, but it gave me an idea and went some way in helping me identify what it was I needed to look for.
I delved deep into the system files on the back of you're suggestion and found the setup exe. file for my sound drivers... ...voila. Nice one jackhammer. :thumb: |
