Need help

Had to reformat the hard drive this morning and get the thing up and running again.

All's well, *mouths* but I have no sound! :(

The sound icon in the taskbar is missing.

Good advice needed...

Already looked.
It says no audio devices and all the options for tweaking are greyed out.

Is it anyway similar to the problems I had a bit ago?

Re-install your sound card?

Digital Output Only Button?
I have to remember to click that on When using the amp, but when I take the computer to somebody's house I have to have it off or the sound just won't work.

Where's that?

swim gave me an idea...I'm going to identify the soundcard issued with the pc and try and find a driver download off the net.

Is there anywhere on the pc I can view the specifications?

Start>My Computer (right click)>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>right click on any hardware symol for properties drivers etc

It didn't do the trick, but it gave me an idea and went some way in helping me identify what it was I needed to look for.
I delved deep into the system files on the back of you're suggestion and found the setup exe. file for my sound drivers...

...voila.

Nice one jackhammer. :thumb:
