the little things that mean a lot

just wondering what "little things" that happen all the time that people think are beautiful, wonderful, or just make you happy...im sick of people complaining and focusing on bad things all the time and i figured this list could be a little pick me up on sadder days...heres a few of the random things that make me happy just for starters::

..summer afternoons
..thunderstorms and the smell just before rain
..swing sets
..knowing all the words to a song and singing it at the top of your lungs
..going to breakfast with friends the morning after a really great party and reminding each other of what they did the night before
..that old tee shirt thats been washed 758239 times and has that perfect soft feel
..getting mail
..driving with the windows down on a really nice day
..being content with going home
..substitute teachers
..bouncy balls

come on get happy!!!

a simple 'thank you' always gets you a bit better. people these days are never grateful for what they recieve. a good attitude is always good 2

As part of the Christmas season..I thought I would try to give back something to the people who have helped me in some way shape or form.
-I made a Holiday mix cd for a handful of people.
-I called a friend's cell phone, and left a message along the lines of "I hope you and your family and your gf have the best for your holidays..etc."
-I sent a Christmas card to a friend who lives in NY and who was in the army. I wished him a Merry Christmas and said I'm glad he can be with his family for the holidays.

Other than that....the small things do mean the world to me.
- When college professors, or anyone for that matter, teach me something awesome.
- Going to lunch/supper with my boyfriend.
- Meeting someone who, in the end, makes you grow in some way.
- Fresh brewed cappuccino every morning.
- Being wrapped up in music and emotions.
- Knowing someone cares about you when you're at your worst.
- Not just that comfy t-shirt, but flannel comfy pants too!
- Lighting my favorite scented candle
- Making someone smile
- Being part of something beautiful; music, animal rights, what have you.
- Connecting with people on different levels
- Falling snow
- Waking up in the morning all comfy in bed
- When things are a suprise and work out in a good way.
-This post, thank you.

Which is why I am majoring in Human Services in college. I want to give back to humanity.

-reading stuff you wrote in the past (and remembering the way you used to feel)
-making funny "movies" with you and your friends (and then watch them together)
-knowing you just did something good
-i sometimes have this feeling and it's hard to explain it- i feel so angry and i go take a bath (you know with bubbles and everything) and suddenly i forget about everything and all my anger makes me feel empty on the inside and i kinda float like there's nothing underneath...in that moments i don't care...i don't suffer...i forget and forgive
-preparing dinner or breakfast for someone else
-getting a "thank you" (like you guys already said)
-giving presents and making surprises
