Photoshop tricks (quote)

Here is where you share with me....err...the MB community, I mean, tricks on photoshop. Like how to make a photo with one item in color(like a flower) and the rest in black and white....just for example, but if you know, please share!

read tutorials and experiment... nobody can really teach you photoshop with one post

I was actually hoping someone could explain things better than the tutorials I've seen. They assume you have a good grasp of photoshop already so they refer to things that I can't grasp in jargon that I do not understand. I mean I already have two jobs and school so when I'm just messing around with pictures I need very basic instruction, I dont feel like thinking too much or figuring things out by myself.

Carefully select the area you do not want to be black and white with the magic lasso/magnetic lasso. Right click, say "select inverse" and pres CTRL+SHIFT+U (Desaturate).
